OH WOW!-REALLY?

oh-wow1

Hi everyone, beginning this week this Tuesday October the 7th 2014, we will begin our new OH WOW-REALLY? night, which is really dealing with conspiracy theories. All over the world and for ages there have always been conspiracy theories about the going on’s of life. While they are interesting to read or watch, if they are videos, it makes one wonder if there is any truth to what is being said or what is written. I must admit, often times, the theorist has valid points and even lay out their arguments better than O J’s Simpson’s lawyer Johnny Cochran with the now famous “If the glove does not fit you must acquit!

I along with the bloggers believe that we should explore some of these conspiracy theories, speak of them, and dissect some of the arguments made by some conspiracy theorist. So Tuesdays will be also another exciting night. The rules are the same as book club discussion night. You will submit, a conspiracy theory for discussion, support the argument with video, essay, press, book or argument. If you submit an argument, be ready to moderate. The time will be 8pm sharp!

For our first OH WOW discussion, Blogger Lalibela Nile has put forth the subject and will moderate, I know we will have fun with these discussions just the same as with our book club discussion, oonuh roll out tomorrow!

All who like the title OH WOW-REALLY? for this new discussion, please let me know otherwise come up with a better name if you can, I did not want to put up so so Conspiracy Theories

Perspective is Everything, By Lalibela Nile

Perspective is everything; hence, I am going to begin with the following quotes from one Dr. Henry Kissinger, “The emigration of Jews from the Soviet Union is not an objective of American foreign policy. And if they put Jews into gas chambers in the Soviet Union, it is not an American concern. Maybe a humanitarian concern.”  “It is an act of insanity and national humiliation to have a law prohibiting the President from ordering assassination.”

Super Powers are out for self and self-preservation—they don’t care about the welfare of less power nations or powerless nations; such nations are utilized so that certain objectives can be met.  With the advent of WWI & WWII, Europeans perished by the millions and toward the end of WWII, lots of Asians, et al began to perish.  The geopolitics that is the Cold War, reshaped the world in a manner where no nation was safe—with the exception of a few, nations had to either declare their allegiance to the democratic/capitalist ways of the West or the communist/socialist ways of the USSR.   During the Cold War, the notion of national sovereignty meant nothing—especially for the newly ‘independent post colonial and those nations that sought their independence.  The USA and USSR sought to influence of resource rich regions.  In an effort to gain the requisite influence, nations were permitted to go independent, while other nations were denied independence.  Sovereign leaders, who were not complicit with one side or the other, were deposed or murdered.

Newly independent nations were popping up all over the globe—Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas.  Predicated on a respective leader’s ideological/political stance/leaning, ‘he’ would be propped up, assassinated or forced into exile.  Congolese Patrice Lumumba comes to mind.  Lumumba was all for an independent Congo; a nation free to dictate her own terms and charter her own path/destiny.  Colonial Belgium, the USSR and the USA did not see things in that regard.  Hence, the pan-Africanist Patrice Lumumba had to go. By means of a coup d’état, Prime Minister Patrice was deposed of his position. Mobutu Sese Seko, the visible leader of the coup d’état, rose to power and Patrice Lumumba was eventually murdered.  Given the many covert operations that were taking place in that region, all in the know, knew that the USA and Belgium played a role in the demise of Lumumba and in the rise of Mobutu—given the fact that the USSR came to the aid of Lumumba when the USA elected not to assist the Congo with their disputes with Belgium, they were not suspected playing a role in the change of events.

The USA and Belgium went on record to dispute any involvement in the coup d’état and the many assassinations—calking up suspicions to that of innuendos and conspiracies.  Individuals or organizations seeking to implicate the power players of any subversive activities were made to become silent or relegated to the status of a conspiracy theorist. Relative to modus operandi, the British MI6, Israel’s Mossad, the USSR’s KGB and America’s CIA was a function of being clandestine—everything was covert, this was a business of shadowy characters who sought to always maintain plausible deniably.  These shadowy agencies function in a manner in which they are often times not implicated for their nefarious and licentious activities.  Some of these very agents of evil visited upon my beloved Jamaica during her formative years and she has been set on a path of seemingly perpetual chaos and underdevelopment ever since—however, I have elected to address this tumultuous period at a different time.

How valid are these conspiracy claims?  Who Killed Lumumba and why?  Shift all the way toward our contemporary times, was Hugo Chavez murdered?  Was Yasser Arafat murdered?  How plausible is it to induce heart attacks, strokes or any other fatal debilitating condition?  Newly declassified documents, et al are only now shedding light on a lot of the heinous actions/activities that were carried out or sponsored by the likes of the CIA, Mossad and the KGB…”

In lieu of going any further, let me provide the following references for you to review and we all can then discuss later on:

It appears that this may topic will be into hibernation…but I would like to ask what conspiratorial theories are there that bloggers would have loved to discuss?

Sorry my phone needed charging. Was it because he was a threat to the “peace process”? I read something that I don’t quite understand, it said he had to go because he was a relic of the past. He wasn’t into the new ‘Arab Alliance’ and the post 9/11 thinking eg Invade Iraq, set up torture camps etc. He was too much of a nationalist concerned with what happened inside of Palestine. He had to be ousted and Mahmoud Abbas appointed

Per Arafat, he has been asked to compromise on many occasions and he obliged always. He stated that he’d wasted 30 years so one he took a stance. It is after this juncture when he started to make more hardline demands…

Of course, it’s the same tactic for African nations, Caribbean nations, South American nations, Asia and a few small European nations during the USSR reign. It’s always the same tactics and yet it repeats itself.

With that being said, I am wondering if there is any hope for these ‘developing nations’? Seemingly, they all have to align one way or another–one would think that the UN was in place to advocate for such countries…

I hope so as well. I love the topic and have always wondered about the power plays of the super powers and the agencies designed to clean up any unfortunate incidents and solve certain problems. As obara has pointed out there will never be peace because a balance must always be maintained, however I do agree that these killings are indeed an outrage but these things have been happening and the US is known for unclean hands.

Obara, Mobutu is the quintessential spineless opportunist–he was a greedy money hungry sellout. The sad reality is that the West, enjoyed working with his kind–they know that all that they had to do was crease his palm and he would bend over…

Lalibela A Nile (@Lalibela_Nile)

Upright leaders are an affront to the ways of the West and such leaders were not down with the pillage of Africa. Some saw no future in dealing with the West, hence, they looked to the USSR and most if not all such leaders were displayed one way or another.

African nations were getting their independence at a very peculiar time–the Cold War was in its heights. All post colonial nations were used as pawns…

NuNu, the biggest issue had to do with the presence of foreign powers–meddling in a very stealthy way. Every cabinet appointment had to be approved by foreign powers. Lalibela A Nile (@Lalibela_Nile)

Lumumba, was not a Marxist or anything of the sorts, he only reached out to the Russians because he needed help with handing the meddling Belgians. Though the USA opted not to assist,Lumumba still reached out to the USA for certain assistance. However, not in the capacity of handouts… Lumumba was of the opinion that he should be able to engage with the US and the USSR simultaneously–as he was not subscribing to the Cold War alignment references.
