QUOTES ON BETRAYAL-SPINELESS CREATURES THEY ARE

“Stab the body and it heals, but injure the heart and the wound lasts a lifetime.”

Mineko Iwasaki

The quote up top describes just how I feel about betrayal. I have always wondered, what makes up the mind of a friend to betray another friend or even family. The bible speaks of Judas Iscariot, one of the most famous betrayer of all times, but upon further study of the mythical stories of the bible, you will find that Judas was chosen to release Jesus from his earthly clothes, (suh oonuh Christians, you can low de man name now). Judas was chosen for this important role, according to the Book of Judas (taken out of the Bible) because out of the twelve disciples of Christ, he alone understood “The message”. He was the most spiritual.

I have written about Betrayal before, read here, and it was one of my first awakening to the nature of some human beings. Since then I have encountered betrayal many times, and each time I experience it, the pain was harder to bear. I am loyal to a fault, but as I grew and came into adulthood, I realize the most humans are no good, and many have agendas as to why they seek you out or call you a friend. It sometimes makes you feel foolish however, to trust someone and have that person betray your trust. This is why I believe that any “secret” you share is no longer a secret. Often times there are people who get joy from another persons suffering. Always remember, that, not all who smile with you are for you. Look at the post picture up top.

The friend whose husband has left her, calls the other friend to cry, seeking a listening ear or comforting words, yet the friend behind the phone line, listens and smile, perhaps it is even she who has caused her friend’s misery. I often wonder how do they live with themselves, knowing what they do, the lives (in some cases) they have destroyed? I know they qualify their actions by telling themselves something to smooth away their conscience, but there will be times when their act will rise from their subconscious to haunt them.

Vile, and wicked are those who betray. They are weak and spineless, cowards I will say, ruthless and without honor. In my story Sophia Spencer, was weak, she could not take the fact that the class was not speaking to her, and even though I stood with her against them, she did not see my worth as a friend, she saw the opportunity of a large group being her friend, rather the loyalty of one little girl who stood beside her through thick or thin, who was her support. She betrayed me.

True friends stab you in the front.
~ Oscar Wilde

“To me, the thing that is worse than death is betrayal. You see, I could conceive death, but I could not conceive betrayal.”
Malcolm X

“It was a mistake,” you said. But the cruel thing was, it felt like the mistake was mine, for trusting you.”

David Levithan, The Lover’s Dictionar

“It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend.”
William Blake

“Yet each man kills the thing he loves
By each let this be heard
Some do it with a bitter look
Some with a flattering word
The coward does it with a kiss
The brave man with a sword”
Oscar Wilde, The Ballad Of Reading Gaol

“What was there to be gained by fighting the most evil wizard who has ever existed?” said Black, with a terrible fury in his face. “Only innocent lives, Peter!”
“You don’t understand!” whined Pettigrew. “He would have killed me, Sirius!”
“THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE DIED!” roared Black. “DIED RATHER THAN BETRAY YOUR FRIENDS, AS WE WOULD HAVE DONE FOR YOU!”
J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

“I used to advertise my loyalty and I don’t believe there is a single person I loved that I didn’t eventually betray.”
Albert Camus, The Fall

“Everyone suffers at least one bad betrayal in their lifetime. It’s what unites us. The trick is not to let it destroy your trust in others when that happens. Don’t let them take that from you.”
Sherrilyn Kenyon, Invincible

“It’s hard to tell who has your back, from who has it long enough just to stab you in it….”
Nicole Richie

“We cultivate love when we allow our most vulnerable and powerful selves to be deeply seen and known, and when we honor the spiritual connection that grows from that offering with trust, respect, kindness and affection.

Love is not something we give or get; it is something that we nurture and grow, a connection that can only be cultivated between two people when it exists within each one of them – we can only love others as much as we love ourselves.

Shame, blame, disrespect, betrayal, and the withholding of affection damage the roots from which love grows. Love can only survive these injuries if they are acknowledged, healed and rare.”
Brené Brown, The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You’re Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are

“If you’re betrayed, release disappointment at once.
By that way, the bitterness has no time to take root.”
Toba Beta, My Ancestor Was an Ancient Astronaut

“The most important thing in communication is hearing what isn’t being said. The art of reading between the lines is a life long quest of the wise.”
Shannon L. Alder

Betrayal I’ve experienced it on so many levels. And to some I may have even a betrayer. But can we be honest with each other ? What I’ve learned is that what can appear to be betrayal to one person is actually a blessing for another. My ex betrayed me every time he cheated on me. I betrayed myself every time I went back to him. I betrayed myself when I didn’t go after that job I really wanted because I was afraid I wasn’t good enough. But the person that got the job is blessed by it. And now… Read more »

I don’t understand a religion that often times makes you go against your own best interest.

I forgot to pray also. Whatever is going on with the world, God and the Divine entities help us. Unfortunately most people are either asleep, stupid, ignorant or just blame evil.

Don’t know if I’d even go as far as calling them Christian. They’re just hustlers who have realized that the Black church is a big time money-making opportunity. Their not interested in protecting the interest of the community. They look out for self and self alone.

I saw this interview and was laughing at what an idiot this pastor is. Roland Martin dragged and shamed him (rightfully so) and he doesn’t even realize it. He couldn’t articulate anything substantive. Some shuck-n-jive Negros just fool enough to believe and be satisfied with any old thing you tell them and will pimp themselves for a dollar. 100 seats for the 100 pastors. ol’ dutty wretch dem!

Let me tell you, I was watching it with my mouth wide open. I would not believe those pastors meet with him AND showed their faces. Their congregation should vow to NEVER EVER let them see day light. How can you talk about you are a person of God and meet with someone who is evil towards your people. Then talk about we are not endorsing BUT … there should be no “but” anything cause there should not have been a meeting

Afternoon Obara n Lincoln betrayal is a wicked beast. The dragon that never loses its fire or sting! I have felt betrayal and it nearly suffocated me. I was sleeping with the enemy…literally. Smdh
Now a days i dont let people too close to me and keep my guard up. Which is sad…but in this day its a must. I think everyone has a motive so im constantly weary of people.
Nice quotes from beginning to end…

I think that’s was my weakness growing up. I treated everyone like how I would want to be treated but 90% have used and betrayed. Funny some of those who did the worse to me came back years after asking for forgiveness. I never gave them a chance to come back in my life as I forgave but the pain and scars were too deep to forget. Now I just stick to myself and not let anyone in my circle, though I believe it has held me back professionally but I wish not to be hurt by the evil of… Read more »
