greeting | ah · bu · ru · ah bo · yeh · ah · bo · shee · sheh |
From the Yoruba Tradition: A greeting between Ifa initiates or Babalawos (see Babalawo). The greeting originates from the Holy Odu Ifa Ogunda Meji, which tells of a story of the Great Olofi (See Olofi) and the secret names of his three daughters. To this greeting, an initiate will answer Ogbo Ato Asure Iwori Wo Fun. However, if one initiate greets the other with just ‘Aboru Aboye’ then the answer will simply be ‘Ogbo Ato’.
