NATURE SERIES: FIRE PEOPLE AND THE REALMS OF FIRE

Reggae artiste Capleton refers to himself as the Fire Man and also as King Sango. Sango is a deity within the Yoruba pantheon who represents lightning and thunder. He also represents fire and his devotees wears the colour red. According to the Yorubas, when we hear thunder it is Sango within that realm of power, pulling out thunder stones and throwing them to the earth. This results is us finding stones shaped like a 3 sided axe, these are used as insignia's  (deathly representation) of Sango (mi love him ei si), and are given to the initiate when he initiates into the mysteries of Sango. The stories to be told about Sango within the stories of the Odu's of Ifa always fascinates me because as a metaphysician, a person who understands and knows about the realms within time and space, the Yoruba stories correlates with many of the knowledgeI have acquired during my travels and learning. The fact that there is a particular realm where this deity resides, and when we hear the roar of thunder, it is him pulling out the stones from within the realm where he resides and throwing it on earth, where we will now find it, use it to communicate with him. Now, many people may imagine the realm of fire to look like a place set ablaze, like the Hell described in the Christian Bible, (no such place exists). But it is not so. It is understandable, however, for our imagination to see a place like this, because our minds are limited and also because we have all heard of this place called Hell and imagine it to be a fiery place of destruction. ...

NATURE SERIES: WATER PEOPLE – THEY WALK AMONG US AND THEY’RE REAL

There are so many mysteries here in this earth realm and about our lives in which we live. Many of us have no idea of water people or other dimensions or other realities. Many of us are so caught up with trying to get through life and it's encumbrances. Survival for most of us is what is on the mind, some finding it difficult here and others play it a day at a time. I have always known somewhere from deep within, that although I was human, I was different. ...

COMMUNICATING WITH SPIRITS – ONE OF MY FIRST EXPERIENCES

I had always wondered while growing up and seeing people becoming possessed, what really went on during the time they are in custody of spirits? The world of spirits always fascinated me and I eventually knew why when I began to trod the path of a practitioner. While attending Zion church, I secretly criticized people who claimed they were in spirit. I was the proverbial doubtful Thomas, still am, I suppose. There was a time when I felt detached from almost everything. I did not realize my feeling of detachment then, I recognized the feeling as being numb, this was when I was in training, "spiritual school," being initiated into spirituality by non - physical elders, read here. The numbness that I felt was my way of dealing with a new or renewed life, what Jesus of Christianity must have meant when he said that "we must be born again." I remember the first time I became possessed by spirit and it happened in church one night, a spiritual church. ...

A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF TYING AND BINDING-AN EPIDEMIC IN EVERY CULTURE

Since I wrote the post the Symptoms of Tying, I have received tons of emails of people who are affected by it, (read here for one of my own personal stories, this one is of my father). For people who can read patois, (it is in patois straight through) read this one, it is also very personal to me, as a matter of fact this was the second post I ever wrote on my blog. Through out my postings here on Embracing Spirituality, I have sprinkled this act of Obeah into many of my posts. It is prevalent in ALL cultures and within all societies, and it does not even have to be lovers that do it to each other. A parent can bind a child unto him or her for control, friends in platonic relations can do this for their own reasons, making the person a slave to them and forcing loyalty. It is that serious because it does exist. People do it quite often and in a certain culture (do not ask me which one, I will not reveal it) mothers train their daughters to find good suitors and instruct them on what to do or what to take from them so that this person can be bound to them forever. Trick worse than obeah is a post which I can actually say now, that I was tricked and tied up by the man's parents. I was innocent to the fact, but because I am no ordinary human being, my non-physicals set me free. There was once a church I attended that the mother, you can find her here, (I have really written a lot of posts, imagine that? and I can not type, oonuh clap mi!) tied up all her attendees. I think I wrote that story here, but I cannot remember the title of the post. They cleaned her house, washed her clothes, did all her bidding. I exposed her unintentionally by me, but intentionally through spirit, and there began one of the greatest spiritual fights of my life, read it a part of it here. ...

THE TRUTH ABOUT SAGE

It doesn't work. At least not how you think it does. Some time ago, I was speaking to a woman who was telling me a dream she had. I think she wanted my opinion, although she didn't ask, (she says she is very spiritual and can do things herself). After she told me the dream, she mentioned that when she got off the phone with me she would "smudge" (here smudging means a smokey fire) the house using Sage. I smiled in my mind at her saying this because she was Jamaican, land of spirits, spirits who can come up to you like a human being and talk to you then disappear just like that. Speak to some old timers and they will give you some good stories. Like my father, for example. He once told me that when he was a young man, he was walking home one night, (this was in the country where only the stars and the moon were lit, there were no street lights, and so the night was dark). The country nights were lonely and nature's sound came from everywhere. He said he wasn't afraid of anything non-physical, he had no belief in the supernatural, he only had eyes and ears out for bad men, criminals. As he walked, (he had miles to go before he got home) he spotted a man in a felt hat walking ahead of him. It seemed like an elderly man, although fit and sturdy. Daddy said he thought to himself "Yes! Mi have company now", so he quickened his steps in hopes of catching up to the man, even if he just walked behind him. As he tried to do so, the man seemed to be further away, causing my Dad to jog trying to catch up to him. He never did. ...

12 ESSENTIAL STEPS TO FIND YOUR PURPOSE

One of the greatest things in life is to know who you are.  Finding your purpose doesn't have to be difficult. When I was going through my awakening, which was very jarring (read here), I had no idea I would come out of it sane. I worried that "my enemy" would die. It took years for me to be able to talk about it. This blog helped heal me, because while I taught you through my writings and musings, I also learned and day by day it got easier. ...
