Good day all. In a few days Oladayo and I will be in Jamaica, and I will be having a meetup with those who wish to meet with me for spiritual discussions, consultations, and more. In the past I have had a few emails of those in Jamaica who ask when I will be coming back to the island. This announcement will give you sufficient time to get yourselves together for the meetup. For those who wish to schedule an appointment for readings, or any other spiritual concern, send me an email for more information regarding the meetup. (more…)

Fire is mysterious. No one knows exactly where it comes from. Yes, rub two sticks or stones together and the friction (the force that resists motion between two surfaces) can create a spark which will cause fire, does that explain its origin? Friction is what creates the spark which produces the fire, but where does fire really come from? One day we will really explore fire from a spiritual perspective, hopefully we all will be able to have the conversation intellectually and spiritually. There are many topics I have been praying and hoping I can discuss on the blog, but…

Since the other day, I have been hooked on a Netflix original series called Travelers. One Sunday Night, when all had quieted down and I settled into my bed, I wanted something new to watch. Cable has a thousand channels here in Nigeria but nothing good to watch except food network, so I decided to go to trusty Netflix. I searched and found Travelers. The look of the characters advertised did not seem like vacationers to me, there was something eerie, out of place or to my taste there, so I checked it out to see what exactly was the series about. Here’s the…

Some time ago, I had written some stories here on Embracing Spirituality titled Beyond this World. I had written on two scenarios on the death experience, one where Lolly had died unexpectedly and ended up becoming an earthbound spirit, tied to the earth by the daughter she suddenly left behind and one where Jonah an old man who wished for death, wanting to go join his beloved wife. I opted to teach about the death experience as I was taught by my non-physicals, except I wanted to do so in story telling form because I believed it would have been easier…

There is a scripture in the bible which talks about Martha, the sister to Lazarus, finding Jesus in the town he had gone to. She was crying and urging him to come back because her brother Lazarus had died and was buried. She told Jesus she knew if he was there, Lazarus would not have died. She implored him to come with her right away so that he could bring Lazarus back alive. In this very scripture, John 11 verse 35, it says “Jesus wept.” When I practiced Christianity, this particular short verse of the bible had a very strong…

When I was a little girl growing up in Jamaica, there was a drunkard by the name of Mr. Fergie, a short little man with a crushed up face and head of white hair. He seemed old and his face surly. I, to this day, never remembered Mr. Fergie standing up straight. He was always drunk. His best friend was the good old Jamaican White Rum, J Wray and Nephew. There was also another drunk in my community who was a shoe maker, he was called Shoey. At nights when Shoey would stagger on his way home, the younger men…

Hello all, welcome to another set of classes offered by OMOU. Today is a busy day for me. I am busy with spiritual work every day, but usually make the time to write a post as I am committed to doing so. Unfortunately today does nit give me the time but I will peep in now and again in between work, but for now I would like you to ponder on these words by L.W.De Laurence. I find it funny when I see how people react to De Laurence’s name, attributing everything his name is attached to as evil, fear is a no good son of a &*%#h. There are mountains…

Last night I sat in bed watching Gun Smoke, one of my favorite television shows to watch when I am in America. My alarm on my phone went off signalling that it was time for me to meditate. I do so twice per day. I paused the show and began to do my prayers and meditation, which always take me far. While meditating, I saw myself in a forest and surrounding me were some small black people who seemed oblivious to my presence. Where I was looked like those National Geographic Specials when they would show the Amazons and the…

Music connects us all to each other and to the divine. I have written many times, here on this blog, posts on music and the effects it has on human beings on a whole and also the response it gets from beings within time and space. There is nothing spiritual or traditional which can be done without song or music involved. In Jamaica, we have our beautiful spiritual kumina, which is the beat of the drums, one is the playing caste, which weaves all types of complicated rhythms but it is what tells the story during the kumina, and the other…
