Yay Ms. Obara you’re back!!!! We missed you!

I hope you are doing very well Ms.Obara, thank you for this wonderful post. Strangely enough, minutes before I saw your post, a house caught fire outside far away from mine with big dark clouds in the sky. I thought to myself, I hope that everyone got out safely and that I wished that I knew how to read the smoke! And here you are with this beautiful timely post!!!
Every time I burned frankincense at home to cleanse my home of negativity, I and the man I was seeing always got into arguments where I would feel the need to tell him to leave the space. Every single time, without fail.
I knew that the energy I called forth needed him removed from the space because he did not match the vibration I was calling, but I thought that I was making things up in my head. I will never look at incense let alone smoke the same ever again. Thank you for opening my eyes!

Please before I come with my observations can the incense be burn at any hour?

Can African incense be burn along prayers?

This is interesting because- Just before reading this post I was burning stick incense and cleaning my room as I do daily (because I love the scent and energy it gives). However this time I was praying aloud and talking to my ancestors. Not long after, I looked over and was surprised to see that the sticks were finished burning. Seemingly faster than usual. I didn’t pay attention to the smoke but I did notice that the incense bun out quite fast. Next time I will pray and watch the smoke as well.

Also! I find it interesting that the frank and myrrh combination is often sold as good. I’ve used the mixed incense and burned them in a pot with coal before with the believe that it was only positive. With what I now know, I will be sure to use frankincense alone.

Hey Miss Obara! I love this post. I’ve always wondered about the symbolism of smoke when burning incense. When I light a stick incense on my ancestor altar and pray, the smoke always dances. Sometimes I notice the smoke starts to spiral like a mini tornado towards me as I’m praying. My mind usually tells me “that’s spirit” but then I later convince myself “maybe it’s just the way this particular incense stick/brand was built”. So this is pretty cool information to know. Thank you.

It can my dear. It depends on the environment and also the vibration emanating from persons consuming this. This explanation is deeper than me commenting here. So very soon I will treat this as a post.

what about people that are under spirit attack which you know they are, but they don’t know and they can’t stand any incense no matter what one it is why is that?

I can remember when I was made to believe that incense was a form of evil
As I began to awaken, Spirit began to break down these barriers in simple, yet interesting ways.

Many years ago I was in Spanish Town, near the market, there was a lady selling crockery and what seemed like ole bruk. However, me an my nice, cute self was drawn to this little black bowl looking thing with a mesh on the top. I dont think the lady selling it even knew its purpose, worse me weh tek up money an buy it . It was quite some time after that I found out that it was an incense burner.

Incense, in stick form, is nice ( mi love Call Money by HEM) but me personally tink seh the resins dem deh pon a different level. Years aguh yuh teach mi bout frankincense and den yuh did buss mi pon one name three kings or something like that…dem things ya a necessity.

I was at a Farmer’s market in Liguanea,
(uptown ppl always seem to know bout dese things long before di ress a Jamaica….I guess dat’s why dem deh uptown ), there I got a next level burner that looks like a mini cauldron hanging from chains making it easier to carry though a room when burning.
They also had some really nice resins, mi cya remember from which country but trust me! Dem smell so prosperous and powerful even before di fire engery ignite them. Yuh si when resin hits the coal, yuh almost waa get inna spirit .

Mi nuh burn as often as I should and it’s interesting that this post has been made cause a from wah day mi spirit a tell mi fi dweet.

I’d love for you to explore more on the smoke of the other substances you mentioned cause yuh have me a pree a jerk chicken man pon Hagley Park road yesideh .

Mi spirit get excited when yuh mention the prophetic force wid marijuana because mi a tell yuh, that herb is way greater than we have yet to understand an a dats why di system a try control its use.

I will return with feedback on the prayer and incense!

Hi Vincent, I could have listed some incense and what they do in the post but I thought about it and realized that it would be irresponsible of me to do so not knowing the persons who will use them situation. In other words, I am knowledgeable enough to know that if persons want to “open doors”, as you ask about and I recommend an incense for him or her, the person may have somethings (spiritually) going on and the recommendation may not be effective if those things are not cleared through other mediums first.
With this Vincent, I am not able to answer your question because I am uncertain of your specific condition. I refuse to act out of accordance with the laws of the Universe and its operations among man.

Give thx for the info Iya. I will be lighting incense with greater awareness of what is going on from now on. Maybe at some point you can elaborate on interpreting the directions of the smoke. Ire o

A couple readings ago you instructed to me burn incense because my home and altar needed to be smoked out. I didn’t question why (shockingly lol) but it did cause me to pay more attention to the smoke since then and I experience a lot of what you wrote about (especially the effects of praying while lighting) and my dreams that night.

Please do advise what to do with the ash afterward because I hope me simply discarding it isn’t wrong. Funny enough, when I was an altar girl as a child, I was always in charge of burning the incense during the service…there are no coincidences. Thanks again for the dope knowledge drop!

This post blew me away. I must say that this is one of the most important posts you have ever written in my opinion. It is straight forward and uncomplicated which makes it look like an easy read but i know that this is power packed knowledge you just gave us. So many people burn incense especially for fragrance and this includes me. The time i began to pay attention to my choice of smell was when I read your post concerning sage and I immediately discarded the pack of incense i had that contained sage.

Now this post triggered an awakening in me. It took me back to the sage post and i realized how i used to feel when i was burning the sage sticks ignorantly(i felt chocked and uneasy then i will put it off halfway and then light it up later. But the Jasmine, frankincense and some others didn’t give me that feeling.

When i was moving into my new apartment you told me to burn frankincense and pray. That day i had someone waiting for me to meet up and i said this incense stick should burn in an hour. I noticed something that day and attributed it to maybe the wind, but i just realized from this post that it was spirit. Ma’am the incense burned out in much less than an hour and now i know why and I’m grateful for you revealing this.

So i burn a stick of Jasmine yesterday to carry out your experiment and just let it sit , the smoke was going up steadily. Then i tried something you have taught us about(that even the praying in the mind is heard). I paid homage to my ancestors and immediately the smoke changed behavior, it increased, spiraling upwards and then bent towards me. After a while it calmed down, then i said some affirmations still in my mind and it went up again in different directions. Then i invited benevolent beings to share my space and the smoke was dancing to Icebeatchillz bad and naughty hahaha. I was in awe as the stick was burning out with speed. After everything i let it sit and expectedly it settled. Each time i smiled at this experiment the smoke will dance.

By evening i know i was visited by spirit, i got the sign over 20 times, you know that sign ma’am. I didn’t have gin, so i placed water, welcomed them and invited them to drink.

I have no questions as i have seen for myself. The questions i would have asked are not ones you will answer here. I have also realized that I should get an incense burner, thank you.

Long shall you live in health, wealth and soundness of mind. Though the human shell is weak, yours will always be strong and outlive the test of time. You will have the best of this reality and trample on enemies. The divinities will always have your back and work with you. Ase Ase Ase Olodumare!!!

All I can say is wow! This is a very informative post, Obara.

So much technicalities I was not aware of such as burning from the back of the house and moving towards the front. I always just assumed that as long as smoke reached the rooms it didn’t matter the direction.

One question I would like to ask: in terms of purifying a house you’re moving into what time of day is best? I have always heard it’s best to burn at night instead of day. Is that true?

I remembered there was a spiritual work I did in which I was told to use a blazing red-hot charcoal to burn a material in which I can’t mention here. I did the work inside my bedroom in the evening and I wore white clothes and made my bed with pure white bed sheet as instructed and I said some incarnation without leaving my bedroom. The smoke was very strong and it lasted till the morning.
When I woke up, the purpose of the ritual wasn’t achieved but unbeknownst to me I summoned a Spirit which didn’t return back.

From that very day, I have to tell you that I spent a lot of money on different spiritual works. Every other Spiritual work I did was destroyed by this spirit I summoned and even all the spiritualist couldn’t understand why everything they were doing for me weren’t just working. It lasted for more than a year until I explained what I did to a very knowledgeable and powerful spiritualist who later did a sacrifice for me at his home. After the sacrifice, he burned an incense and walked with it around his house then left the incense burner at his doormat. I was confused that day why he was walking inside his house with smoke, but I couldn’t asked him why. This problem was solved because the spirit left. Today, I understand what he did. I guess we should be very careful of ritual we engage ourselves in.

And I must say honestly this statement you made about fragrance resonates with me – “When it comes to fragrance, all things sweet and smelling good attracts spirits, and, likewise, all things with offensive odors does the same — the difference is in the types of spirits they attract.”
I remembered when I was experiencing some difficulties some years ago, a spiritualist prepared a work for me and he told me to buy a fragrance with good smell so he can apply to the work. I bought vanilla fragrance and he applied it to a soap he prepared. Trust me when I say there where open doors of prosperity in my life immediately I started using the work and my body was always smelling vanilla. I didn’t understand the reason he did what he did, he only told me the smell will attract that which I wanted.
I understood better in 2019 when I read a post here on Embracing spirituality.
Is great to always be here. As always I’m going to be forever grateful to you for changing my life with this blog ma’am, my siblings are more spiritual because of the knowledge I’m always sharing with them.

Honestly, my siblings don’t know were I’m getting my knowledge from, they only know there is this Powerful Jamaican American lady that changed my life for good. Not knowing the source of the knowledge makes them appreciate the information. I know them and I understand them very well. The Right detailed information is harder to find than most people think, and I believe with all certainty that you’re doing a great job with this blog.
