Know the Energy You Work With – How Hidden Powers Work Through Others to Affect Our Destiny

Often times as we go through life and things seem challenging to us to the point where we have no answers to the different roadblocks we meet, it does not occur to us that it is because certain spiritual energy that influences our lives are not in alignment with us.

We are all here for many different purposes and in order to fulfill and understand our destiny, we must experience them in many different ways as our evolution goes in phases and stages. Everything is energy. Everything operates through energy, which is frequency and vibration, and just as how there is the masculine energy and the feminine energy, which is something real, these energies affects our spiritual and material growth as well as our consciousness.

Let me explain what I mean…

I once knew a man and his family, I forget his name but for this story let’s call him Michael. He was a wonderful young man. Hardworking, loving, caring, very kind and ambitious, yet he had a terrible temper that many people did not know of. And if you were an outsider looking in you would think that he did not have his priorities in order, but something bigger was at play here, bigger than the material mind could conceive.

One day his girlfriend came to me and complained about his attitude. She wondered if she should continue to be in his life because of him being so facetious and dismissive of her feelings and at times cold and rude to her.

But when I looked through the young man, spiritually, I realized that his spirit worked with the feminine energy.

The “feminine energy” is just one half of a single energy. In Earthly manifestation the single energy splits and becomes two, one feminine and the other masculine. The feminine energy is a force unto itself, a living power that empowers all that it works with to evolve into the best version of themselves.

On the emotional plane it is love and care. It is a “motherly” role. But the feminine energy is not “woman”. It is a power, a force, that is within the Cosmological world. For example, it is the force that sends the rain to cleanse our earth. It is the force that sends cool breeze. It is the force that cools us and cleanses us when we bathe. It is the force that lights the moon to light our path at night. It is the force that allows us to sustain this rough terrain of the Earth. So from the Cosmic world this is what that force radiates.

But the feminine energy is not just soft. As a matter of fact, it can be harsh. Even though she is the caregiver, she can also be the punisher. In the Ifa-Orisha tradition, there lies the deity Yemoja, which is a feminine deity, but it is the ocean that can turn into the tsunami.

In fact, I remember many years ago I spoke to a very old Obatala priestess (over 100 years old) who spoke about Yemoja with fear. She told me, “Yemoja takes who she pleases. If you are her children, you can not escape her. We do not pray to be taken by her.” After saying all that she did, she became tight-lipped and refused to say anything more.

The masculine energy now is the harshness of the sun. It is the roar of thunder. It dazzles the sky with lightning. It is the whip that bruises the skin. It is the force that turns metal into weapons. The heavy thud a tree makes when it falls. The sound of the axe when it cuts the tree.

A person may not know what energy they work with, but they will have the feeling of how to navigate their way through life. This can be through many mediums. Meditations, introspection, embracing their spirituality can allow them to review their life to understand what energy works with them, what energy aligns with their spirit.

In the story of the young man the feminine energy disrupted his life in his younger years, because an older woman who did not deem him fit to date her daughter had cursed him spiritually and had plagued him with malevolence. However, while he went through suffering at the hands of this woman, he never once abused her, but she had (in her malevolence) left a stain upon his cloth.

But years after, a new young lady came his way and because of how he reacted to the former one and the malevolence of the mother, she came in and lit his way and he began to progress. In other words, the feminine energy that his spirit works with had rewarded him with someone who would assist him to evolve into becoming who he ought to be. Unfortunately, however the stain from the woman in his formative years came forward into his life when he had now found a certain peace and his terrible temper began to show itself.

I told her that his spirit works with the feminine energy and this means that his destiny, his progress, his happiness, is directly dependent on the favor of this energy, one that manifests itself in the female gender.

Therefore, only if he respects this energy can he rise up to the place he ought to be. He had a great star and was destined for success– but he did not know that it was the feminine energy that held the key to that door.

A way had been opened for him to meet his destiny, to find his success, but his behavior was destroying it and delaying his progress. But it was not another source that was wielding the power against him, it was the same energy, the feminine energy, the very energy that is his power and support, that challenged him with tests which his reaction would determine whether or not he would move forward or backward.

You see, when we talk about obeah or juju, and we think about who our enemies are, and who is behind our troubles, what we often do not realize is that there is a bigger picture even if we find the culprit. In the case of the young man above, even though he battled the physical and spiritual malevolence of his former girlfriend’s mother, he did not know that it was not just a human he battled, it was a power. And that it was the same power that would also reward him later on.

As I was writing this post, my own son came home from work, teary-eyed, and said he needed to talk to me. He was saddened by the fact that 3 of his managers (all women), all spoke to him in a manner that made him feel disrespected. My son, independently, is a designer, and his creations are lauded by many people. However, for the good benefits a job offers, he decided to take this job.

But yesterday, one behind each other, each of these managers scolded him or felt the need to correct his work, targeting only him of all the workers. Perhaps it did not help that he wore an American flag jacket to work and he stood out like the statue of liberty (idle thoughts running through my head, as I tried with all my might to ignore the glaring red, white and blue jacket stars and all). They watched him closely like sea gulls at the beach waiting for your hamburger to fall. While he spoke, I saw them, all dressed in black and i interjected and asked him this and he concurred. I smiled inwardly because I realized who they were and what was happening, but I patiently waited for him to finish.

One of them then assigned him to do something that was not his job and would not allow him to earn rightfully that day. He felt belittled to the point of wanting to quit. In the streets and all around town, my son is known for his designs and his creativity, yet these three crows made him feel reduced.

I asked him an important question, “were you rude to any of them?” and he said no, to which I sighed in relief.

I said, “Son, dry your tears,” for I had seen the whole picture, however from a spiritual point of view and I understood what occurred. “Your spirit works with the feminine energy”, I continued. “Something good is coming for you in 21 days.” [I then gave him a ritual to do] “The feminine energy will reward you, but before a reward is to be gotten, a challenge must be won.”

He was tested and he passed, because although he felt belittled, he did not react to any of them in a negative way.

So you may be wondering, how do I know what energy my spirit works with? For some people if they observe closely they thrive when they are within a certain environment or around certain people.

A man can look into his life and see who best he is successful around, who gave him his first job in which he did well, who advocated for him in school, who vouched for him, how did his good luck or bad luck come about? Or as I put in the subscriber email,

“What about the husband who brings home very little to the table, but the wife is the great breadwinner? At first glance, the husband is just not as successful or lucky as his wife…

But if you take a closer look… the energy that the husband carries may be the source of his wife’s prosperity, a source that is not the husband, himself, but the Invisible Force of the masculine energy.”

It’s all about assessment, reviewing your life to see the compatibility of energies in your life, and being present and observant.

But it is not just the feminine and masculine energy that we should be aware of, there are some people who should not be cruel to animals because the energy they carry and the energy of the animal are the same. But many times they will be challenged to throw a stone after a dog (please don’t) or chase a cat away.

We initiated a gentleman into the beautiful tradition of Ifa and he was told his taboos (things he should and should not do) and one of these taboos was that he should not beat dogs because doing so could bring great disturbance in his life. He later confessed to us that he was not always nice to these sweet animals. He has since changed. Because many humans do not know themselves, they can not often see themselves in other parts of Nature.

There are many things in life to consider my friends. This blog will serve as a guide for your children and their children in years to come, even if you disregard the pages here.

Now that you have read this post and know this energy is real, introspect and see if you can identify what you work with and if you have been in conflict with that energy all along, realize that this is a blockage to your progress and seek to resolve it. If your spirit aligns with the feminine energy, find a woman and give her a flower. If your spirit aligns with children, find a child and buy him or her a treat. If your spirit aligns with a dog or cat, visit a pet store and spend some time playing and feeding them.

I will end this with what ignited this post to happen, which was a discussion with my daughter, and I will tell you what I told her:

If a chair is supposed to take me to my destiny, until I evolve to a state of awareness, I will not like the chair. The chair will be my nemesis. After then I will realize the chair as my teacher. It is the energy of the Earth that creates the tension between me and the chair, not the chair itself. The Earth is like mud that you have to dig through in order to see clearly. The chair is not against me, but I feel it is. The Earth, itself, because of equilibrium will find things that are good for each other, at odds with each other… until it climbs the ladder of consciousness.

This year is the year of introspection, so we must grow up and look deeper within. Honor those that we ought to, regardless of how we feel about them
