The first is by the Great Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, just close your eyes and rock your body and trust Nusrat to take you on a journey. The second is the famous Gayatri Mantra!……the mantra translates…..We meditate upon the spiritual effulgence of that adorable supreme divine reality
Who is the source of the physical, the astral and the heavenly spheres of existence.
May that supreme divine being enlighten our intellect, so that we may realise the supreme truth.
“Music is an International language”, goes the popular saying and it is very true. It doesn’t matter your mental or physical capabilities when it come to music or even the language or dialect it is sung it, even if it is only instrumental, music will send chills going up and down your spine. It is comforting the soul,. When I decide to give my house a deep cleaning, I have to play music to keep me in the mood and often times it takes half the day to complete because I am dancing and singing right throughout. The brain hungers for music, just like it demands food and sex. Music brings joy and comfort, it is sensual, passionate and sublime. It soothes the baby to sleep, wakes up the church, invokes the spirit and sends the dearly departed off to his next home with relish. It marches the bride to her groom and entices the gentlemen at the strip clubs. It accompanies you while shopping from aisle to aisle and keeps you company in the elevator or on the phone while waiting for the operator.
It is the sounds of the bata drums that I dance to when I am in africa, or “wine up mi waist” to at Kumina. When the leader blows his sweet notes in the revival church feets are stomped to the sounds, and spirits are invoked and are welcomed when they come. Celestial angels answer when the melodious sounds of the choir fills the air. Music can exalt one who thought they had no hope. Check out the documentary which won an Oscar called, Music by Prudence. Bob Marley placed reggae music on the map single handedly, and even though we have a large selection of great reggae artists who has come out of Jamaica, Bob Marley was chosen by the universe to carry that torch. Every country has a national anthem siting music as a powerful speech. Where the foundations of a country and its beliefs, hopes and aspirations are meted out in song.
As you all know most of my posts have a personal connection, and I must again say that there are certain depths of spirituality or metaphysics, that I will not discuss. When I first started receiving messages, prophecies and making predictions it started off with prayer. I would pray for someone who seeked my help, but before I prayed I would sing, (I was practicing christianity back then so of course those were the kind songs I sung). Many times as I sang the words from the songs were the message for the individual. I remember a time when I was praying for a young lady (read the post, walking on the left, check the archives, it is the lady in that story I am referring to), the spirits had already warned her of her boyfriends impending death, and the song “ONE BRIGHT MORNING WHEN THIS LIFE IS OVER I’LL FLY AWAY” I kept singing it over and over until I stopped and told her to listen out for news of a death. Recently I was speaking to a female client of mine, minding my own business when an old-time Jamaican chorus, came out of nowhere and had me singing..”MI MUMMA NUH WAAN NUH RICE, NUH PEAS, NUH CUKNAT OIL!….. MUMMA NUH WAAN NUH RICE , NUH PEAS,NUH CUKNAT OIL…MUMMA NUH WAAN NUH RICE, NUH PEAS, NUH CUKNAT OIL…..ALL SHE WANT A DANDY SHANDY ALL DE WHILE”! For all those who do not understand, this song translates basically to the woman/or man always wanting sex and has no ambition for anything else with her partner, the demand for good sex takes the precedence over food. When I had finished singing I said to her “you said something to your boyfriend about sex that offended him” to which she replied “I know exactly what it is”. When I had graduated from my first phase pf spiritual schooling, I would often hear this song, which seemed to be coming from a far and the words were “We shall know…as we have known…never more..to walk alone…’cause in the dawning of the morning on a bright and sunny dayyyyy!…we shal know each other better when the mist have rolled away”!. For all those who knows the song and the words, please forgive me if all the words are not the same. I heard it repeatedly until I finally figured out that it was a sweet message for me from my astral mates and my ancestors. What that song meant to me was that, when the time comes for me to cross over and join my ancestors, it is then and only then that we will meet. “WE SHALL KNOW EACH OTHER BETTER WHEN THE MIST HAVE ROLLED AWAY”!
Please keep this post in mind and pay attention to songs that come to your mind from out of nowhere, it may just be a message, God moves in mysterious ways, is very true. Often times when the songs foretells danger or doom, we can pray it away or if you are spiritually inclined, you will seek a physician! Music is mysterious, like language and fire. It can be made anywhere and it has no owner, it is something that brings joy, warmth and comfort. Share with me how music has affected your life.

Aseeee! wisdom again rayne888
~smiles~ My mom always tells me that. “God moves in mysterious ways”. Love that. Its true too. Music plays a good part in my life. Usually when I’m at a cross road and I can’t make up my mind on something I just pray to God and the next thing I know either a car goes by playing a song or a song comes on TV and I know exactly what I need to do. Sometimes we make life so complicated and difficult but if we took the time to ask the right questions, be patient and listen we can… Read more »

yes negativity can be passed through music also you are correct. When I was a child in Jamaica, and my mothers enemy would pass me by I would, as we Jamaican say throw words at her singing “yuh pick him up yuh lick him dung him bungce right back…what a hard manf fi dead” I beleive that was a Prince Buster old song that my dad use to play on Sunday evenings, but I have always been older in spirit . Of course I receive a proper flogging when she heard me or Miss Will complained, but you get the… Read more »
