The Wonderful Spiritual Power of Lime and How to Use it

As a child growing up in Jamaica, my mother would take me to the market with her to buy from market women who always wore aprons. When my mother would pay the women, they would dip their hands into their massive apron pockets coming up with coins, but along with the coins would be a dried up lime, corn, red beans, and rice.

I was always curious as a child, wondering why the women carried these items. But I was always worried about asking my mother, as she was the type to shush a child too curious. Miss Joyce and Miss Hilda, who both sold produce across the street from where I lived, on the piazza (awning) of Mr. He’s building (the Chinese man that owned the building), both women would wet the entire area of their selling stations with water every morning. At least that’s what I thought.

It would be later that my mother and her friend Ms. Ruth would discuss in their conversation that it was actually lime water that they were using to wash off any “bad” message (spiritual attack) that another jealous seller or disgruntled customer would throw there in the nights to affect their sales.

When I came to America, I was astonished to see Asians do the same thing. Normally Koreans are the ones to sell the most West Indian products and foods, and the same mysterious watery concoction would be used to wash the front of their business places in the mornings when they opened. But it was not just water. It was limewater (or sometimes lemon, I suppose), but lime was the prevalent one.

Ladies and gentlemen let me tell you about this powerful little citrus called lime.

Lime can do wonderful and unimaginable things for our lives, and today I will tell you some of them, not all, of course, for I refuse to give my enemies ammunition.

If you wash a chicken with lime or soak it in lime water, that smell that the raw chicken carries, and the fat and slime that is beneath the chicken’s flesh will dissipate. And if you add lime or lemon to your food, just enough, it will perk it up and give it not only a wonderful texture but flavor. If you drink lime water, it will do wonders for your body.

These are all on the physical plane, but I want to tell you about how this translates on the spiritual plane. Jamaicans use the word “cut and clear” when referring to the spiritual powers of lime, meaning to remove obstacles.

When one realizes that their life is stagnant and things are not moving as they are supposed to move, that they are not flourishing as they should be, it is not all the time that the cause is a spiritual attack. There are times when, according to the Yorubas, “God is buying your life“, which means that your current down period is the spiritual sacrifice made in exchange for keeping your life or preventing devastation from a present or oncoming threat.

And then there are times when greatness is on its way, but you must go through an endurance test. Again, the Universe has to test you to see if you are indeed worthy of what is to come. And then there is another time when Rufus Jones, your next-door neighbor, saw that you got a good position and decided to attack you spiritually, an action which created a stagnancy for you, and now everything starts going downhill.

Now here are the different ways you can use lime to assist your life greatly, and when I say greatly, I really mean greatly. This is the internet, but I am openly giving you keys, and they are genuine. Use it and thank me later.

The Spiritual Power of Lime

1. To Remove Stagnancy and Open Your Ways

To do this, you will use this lime bath:

In a bucket, choose either 3, 7, 9, or 21 limes (any number you choose). Make sure that the limes are fresh and full of juice, and add these to warm water. Tip a little sea salt inside, while making sure the salt does not spill in your house, or else wahala! Read The Spiritual Power of Salt post to learn more about salt.

After squeezing the lime juice into the water, drop the limes themselves into the bucket. Over this mixture, make any prayer of your choosing. A good one, though, is Psalms 51, even if you are not a Christian, it is a good “cut and clear” prayer.

In the hours of about 5:30 am– 6:00 a.m. (at dawn), use the limes as your “bathing cloth” to scrub your body with the mixture while praying (Read this post to learn more about spiritual baths). But make sure not to drop the limes back into the bucket after scrubbing with them. Drop them in the tub or the shower. Your head must be washed or else you did not take a spiritual bath, and air dry instead of using a towel to dry your body.

Leave the bathroom messy. Wait about 30 minutes to an hour before cleaning.

As I said before, there are depths I don’t want to go too far into.

But the bath is sufficient as it is written here.

2. Protect Your Home

To protect your home from unseen forces, you can place a bowl of 7 limes on the inside of your front door. Just this action alone can cut any type of negative forces that either passes through your home or is sent to your home.

3. Protect Your Vehicle

To protect your vehicle from vandalism, threat, theft, accidents, or any spiritual interference, throw whole limes in your boot (in your trunk) or glove compartment (use at least 3). When they dry up, make sure to replace them.

4. Protect Yourself from Attack on Finances/Prosperity

Like the market women in Jamaica that I used to see when I was young, if you are a woman, throw a lime into your purse or pocketbook. If you are a man, cut a lime into a quarter piece, wrap it into something, and place it in your pocket.

In this world, there are knowledgeable people who would know what to do to exchange a person’s prosperity for their own, or to remove it altogether. Having the lime on your person will remove this risk. However, keep it secret. Allow no one to know.

5. Stop/Prevent Nightmares and Bad Dreams

Many people have recurring bad dreams, and when they wake up they are tired or haunted by these nightmares.

To stop this, get up early in the morning without speaking to anyone, catch your first urine in a container (read this post on the spiritual benefits of urine), squeeze half a lime into it, take this mixture, and “wet” your face. Do this for 3 mornings straight, and bye-bye nightmares!

This one is a little more intricate and can do much more than what is explained here but hold this for now.

6. Remove Negative Energy/Entities

To remove negative energy from your space, whether it is a wayward spirit or any malevolent force, peel lime skin and red onion skin together, and place them onto a hot charcoal. You can accompany this with Psalms 72 and burn your house beginning from the back and going to the front of your house.

You may be asking yourself, what about lemon? Lemon has its own power and can do similar as limes. However, in these recipes I have given to you, limes hold the key to the power that they release. I will use lemon as a topic in another post, for it sure has its own potency, along with the power of grapefruit — we will do a citrus series.

These are great tips for you to know and there are very helpful within your life. Times are hard now, and the economy all over the world is terrible. It is good to have something to do, at least, to give you some hope so that you can push through and survive.
