THE NUMBER THREE

Have you ever noticed that after every post I put Three exclamation signs after each title?  The number Three is a very important number which displays itself in our daily lives.The number Three stands for completion, It is the  Number of Perfection and the most Powerful Number. Three is the number of Death (and also its multiples), when someone dies as sure as the sun will rise two more will follow. We see this  Often when even celebrities die. Whenever I hear of a death of a celebrity I always tell my children listen out for two more, Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, and Ed Mac man, Giannini Versace, Princess Diana and Mother Theresa to name a few.  Three is the base of Nine which is the number of the Cemetery. There are Three attributes of God which are Omniscience, Omnipresence and Omnipotence, also In Christianity there is the Trinity, Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer.  With the  number Three in all Religions and Ceremonies, Prayers are Thrice repeated.  There are Three stages to Human Existence, Child, Adult, Senior. In almost all Fairy tales, the number Three is prominent, the Queen tried Three times to kill Snow White, there is always Three main character, the Good Girl, the Prince that rescues her and the Evil person who hunts or haunts her. There is Three main parts to a story, the beginning the middle and the end!

Three is the number of completion, in that a new chapter opens and a door is closed after the number three. It is something which is innate within the human to know this, it is something written in the crevices of our being. The number Three!!  Three parts of creation, Life, Death, and Re-Birth. All corporeal and Spiritual things consist of Three things, The Beginning, the middle and the End. The whole measure of time is concluded in Threes, Past, Present and Future. Mind, Body and Soul, which are the Physical, Mental, and Spiritual. There are Three Intervals to everybody, Length, Breadth, and Thickness. Three types of matter, Animal, Vegetable and Mineral. Faith Hope and Charity are encouraged for a good life.You sin in Thoughts, Words and Deeds. Three is the first odd prime number, Important to the Earth are The Sun, The Moon, The Star. Three is the number of the initiate, he knocks Three times before he is admitted into the Chambers of Secrets. Three and its Multiples is the number of Esu, God’s great messenger. There are Twenty One (21) roads to Esu, add (21) and what do you get!..There  are three powers of intellectual creatures, Memory, Mind and Will. Jonah was three days in the Whales belly, and the Christ rose on the Third day. Three am, is when all Witches walk, all malevolent beings have this hour to roam and create  their mischief, it is their right to do so.

Jesus prayed three times in the Garden of Gethsemane before His arrest.  There were 3 hours of darkness that covered the land while Jesus was suffering on the cross from the 6th hour to the 9th hour. There were only three individuals who witnessed Jesus’ transfiguration on Mount Hermon. Those who saw Jesus’ glory on the mount were John, Peter and James. The baby Jesus was visited by Three Magi’s at the time of his birth.  The Bible only mentions the name of three angels, Michael, Gabriel and Lucifer. The Jewish Rabbis say that the Sword of Death has 3 drops of Gall, one drops in the mouth and the man dies, from the second comes the pallor of death, and the third turns the carcass to dust. When a Spirit calls your name, it will be Three times, and If a Spirit knocks your door, it will be Three knocks! He who three times daily repeats the 114th Psalm is sure of future happiness…In three sorts of dreams there is truth; the last dream of the morning, the dream which is also dreamed by a neighbor, and a dream twice repeated. He who is born on the Third day of the week will be rich and amorous. 

The Jewish butcher of Kosher meat must use three knives; one to slaughter the animal, another to cut it up, and a third to remove the suet which was unlawful food; as pork is. Three acolytes must attend the High Priest when he went in to worship; one at his right, one at his left, and one had to hold up the gems on the train of his vestment. There are three modes of death, beginning either at the brain, the lungs or the heart. A triangle has Three corners. Family Guy’s Peter Griffin has three best friends, Joe, Quagmire and Cleveland..lol..(it’s funny to me). I am sure I could have kept going, but why, when I know you all will come with some very interesting meanings for the fabulous number Three…Where the Hell is the Count from Sesame Street when I need him, I am sure he would have added his own to this. In Ifa/Orisha when  after a prayer we repeat, To, To, To (toe, toe, toe, is the closest to the pronunciation I can get, to say it is like spiting), this is to complete the prayer! The number Three is a very Important number. We should take note of it.
