From the Yoruba Culture: Iba is a word often used during prayers from worshippers of the Ifa/Orisha tradition. It is used to honor or pay homage to God, ancestors, Orisas, elders, Kings, wise-ones, etc. It is used to give honor or praise.

Sentence: Iba Olodumare, Oba ajiki – Homage to [God] the Creator, the King who we praise first.
