Our awakening and our conscious rising gives way to cosmic beings sending many different helpers, teachers, enlightened guides, healers, and more to light the path for our way.
However, negative or malevolent beings are also our teachers and they teach through negative experiences the humans have throughout their journey here.
Our positive…[Read more]

1- When the fetus is in the womb it can be looked at as any other organ the mother has inside her body. The pregnancy is the body developing a being, a human is being formed, however it has no spirit. The spirit travels with the mother. So like the heart it (an organ inside the body), moves and kicks and shows signs of life, or like the blood…[Read more]

Obara Meji!
I greet you with gratitude for the details that you’ve shared….den yuh stop braps!
Due to how mi visual, the eye of my mind deh deh a follow every action and den all a sudden, mi jus reach back to weh mi deh an si seh a di phone mi a luk pon inna mi hand.
Mi jus have one likkle question, have you ever experienced an initiation that was stopped at the Adande? If so, are you able to share what could have led to that and how it was addressed?
Hi IB, no I have not and I pray it never happens.
“Everything in life is negotiable, even death. The only thing that is certain is change, and that is the very reason why everything can be negotiated.” Very true. I realized this when I dug deeper into spirituality and I realized there is a price to be paid for everything only if one is willing to go down that road.
This post reminded me of when I started my journey and you writing about your Padrino, a Cuban man also reminded me of when I came across this blog years ago(Time Flies).
I remember spending a whole year reading just motivational and personal development books and listening to podcast then in January the next year I came across this great blog “Embracing Spirituality” at the early hours of the morning while searching for answer to a particular spiritual work which I prefer not to say here. PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT to SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT. Not coincidence.
IFA TRADITION with the help of this blog (I have read every article in this blog)transformed my entire life. It didn’t just changed my life, it entered my soul, it entered my heart, it entered my being, my spirit. Ifa have freed me from “The Shackles Of Deception”
With the help of this GREAT SPIRITUAL ENERGY / TRADITION called IFA, Even the obstacles on my way, I now predict them long before those that will bring them to me will start to think about them. I now plan for betrayal, I plan for backstabbing, I also plan for reunion & forgiveness long before they happen. I now expect nothing, I expect anything, I expect everything”- That’s one of the beauties that lies behind this great TRADITION. It opens one’s eyes to see the world differently. To understand humanity differently. To journey through life differently…
Thank you Ma’am for always PROVOKING my thought. I remember I was Naive and Egotistical when I first came here, but now with your blog and seeing your messages in my life experiences, a lot have changed. Change is definitely Certain.
Stay blessed Obara Meji.
Peace, Love and Light ✌

This is a beautiful post maám. I smiled through reading it, and I have read over and over.
I remember the rain that came without a sign that day. It almost blew off the roof and everyone was happy.
I remember the presence of my spiritual family and how you identified and notified me of their presence.
I know you cannot describe too much, because what is sacred must remain so. But this post gives me a sweet nostalgia.
*Now, if one should understand the whole philosophical, metaphysical, metaphorical, theosophical understanding of Ifa they would know and understand that this sits at the very peak of the pyramid. -This is absolute truth, as I have realized. Ifa teaches one to be physically&spiritually clean, or I would say “righteous” If a teaches one to deglamorize, be patient and detach.
These are things I have been learning to inculcate into my life. It helps to feel lighter from the inside.
A lot of people think Ifa is magic, and it makes them impatient. If you’re in a hurry, then Ifa might just not be for you.
I honor you maám, and I honor the ancestors for paving the way.
PS: I thank my Ori for lading me to you. And I thank you for being kind and also being my GODMOTHER.

Yup, it rained like mad. We carried on O! And it was Iré!
You will know it when or if you initiate Ifá
Hi Obara,
This is a beautiful and thought-provoking piece on the Ifa-Orese initiation process. You shared your deep understanding and appreciation for this ancient tradition’s spiritual and symbolic elements. It’s amazing to think how much wisdom and knowledge have been passed down through the generations and how they still affect our lives today. You are indeed blessed to experience this tradition with knowledge and power. I don’t know much about this tradition.
However, it does sound wonderful, and as you said, I’m blind to Ifa because I’m one of the “humankind that walk this Earth…faced daily with things that are happening within the invisible world, but because (my) consciousness is not on the height of understanding certain things (I’m) most often blind to it.”
Obara, I just love your posts. I’m always learning something new.
My people are Yoruba. My great grandfather was an esteemed Babalowa, and I have others (Babalowa and Iyanifa) on both sides. This was a great write-up, Iya. Ase
Ibeji thank you for this comment I slightly worried when I made this post because I always write from a Metaphysical point of view and here I took it to that level where I broke things down that many that are not traditional practitioners would understand. I intended to go deeper but I didn’t because the minds that it would take to be able to understand perhaps are not here
