Esu is also known as Eleggua right?
-
Eleggua is a deity from the Lucumi system. I believe this name is a derivative of Elegba which is Yoruba. Esu and the Cubans Eleggua May function similarly but they are not the same. The Lucumi religion has similar names deities but their function and description are not entirely like the Yorubas. But Kudos to them as they have need good custodians in the western world.
In Africa ALL names have meanings.

The question you ask is from a very modern-Christian point of view, whereby the worshipper passively awaits saving from an Almighty Divine.
That perception can not be applied to the Yoruba theology. The ‘Olodumare’ is not the Christian God, but it is translated as “God” (a Supreme) to simplify or generalize the concept to a lower understanding.
The reality you experience is the reality you believe in. It is a reality designed by your own current level of understanding, which shapes your perception. You must ascend that understanding in order to ascend your reality.
If a large population of people all believe themselves to be oppressed, they will collectively witness and experience a reality of oppression and all things related to it. You are freed from oppression when you transcend that understanding. In this way, you are “saved by God”, in other words, “saved by a Light.” The “Light” in this case is your own realization/awakening.
I am of the black race, but I do not have a victim mentality, and so I experience no reality of victimization.
The white race are perceived as privileged, as well as they believe themselves to be so, and so they experience, while you witness, a reality where the white race is a privileged race. Even to use the title of “White Supremacist” is to acknowledge a supremacy over you, thus keeping the reality alive and true to you.
When you awaken to who you are, whether it is a reality that sounds impossible, you will become and experience the reality you believe in. When you no longer pity yourself, when you no longer fight for acceptance or saving, that is the day you are freed. You are freed because a shackle of your own misunderstanding-turned-belief has been broken.
It is the energy you carry that sees you through life.
I hope you get this explanation in its most simplistic form. Deities, gods, and all outer world divinities are ABOVE emotions.
Change your perception, change your life.

Hi Vic20, you asked a nice question, and like Ma’am Obara pointed out, you must awaken to the true reality.
If you’re seeking the easy way out by expecting the deities to turn things around, you will not awaken and get the answers(truth) that you seek. The work is with you and every black person out there who has been stripped of their identity and given a false one to believe in.
Now think about this, the white man brought you Christianity and told you that the system of belief you have is demonic, fetish, black etc. That same white man has gone against everything in his book and religion that he forced on you, but you refuse to think how come? Instead you hold unto the book and religion(Christianity) more than the one who gave it to you. While the same white man is all over the villages in Africa getting initiated to the tradition of your ancestors which they told you that, if you follow it, you will go to hell(a nonexistent place) and burn. But the first quality Ifa will mention to anyone is good conduct in every way or form you can think.
So unlearn and relearn and discover your origin, the more black people go back to their source, they will emit a different energy and a different reality will come upon us all, then we’ll have the key to activate the assistance of the deities. This is the ascending of reality Ma’am Obara is referring to if I’m not wrong and it entails even more. You should also know that these deities aren’t our errand boys, and so their help is sought. Just like Ma’am Obara said, they do not deal with emotions.
So do some soul searching, the anomalies are glaring to the seeking and curious mind. Have no fear and you will discern truth from fiction.
Tip; Do not attach literal meanings to what you read on this blog. Secondly, you will also learn a lot by going through comment section of every post.
Have a blessed day… Love and light

Hi Vic20,
Thanks for your appreciation. I’m still learning about the whole slavery thing and i share the same view with you because many things don’t add up. It looks a be a narrative that was sold until it became accepted as the reality. Something happened to that made the blacks became the physically relegated people and the ancestors know the truth. We do not know it well because we have been torn away from that connection for ages, so the white man uses this as an advantage. Like Ma’am Obara usually teaches, there are no coincidences, so this was meant to happen for a reasons knows by spirit and elders(Those like Ma’am Obara) and such teachers rare to come across because majority are after selfish reasons, personal enrichment and ego.I don’t see race as well, but i’m proud to originate from Africa for so many reasons. We are like source energy, so i honor my ancestors. Many things the whites created and are still creating, is out of fear. They fear us like it’s congenital because like it or not we emit a super high frequency in everything from sport, music, to dance, to art, to cultures, tradition, speech and even in the way we move, we’ve got that swagger in our step. It’s not hard to see that we don’t get bothered by white people living amongst us or passing through our neighbourhoods? But they get agitated if the reverse is that case. This is why the manipulation began to give them a false sense of superiority and they know that they’re living a life of illusion far from the truth.
Based on your philosophy that, if you are trying to reveal truth. You can get answers to your questions by asking questions, and that if you ask a question and you get an answer, and the answer produces a constructive result that means the answer is based on truth. I must say this is not totally so for me. Anyone can give answers and try to convince you because they believe that your asking makes you the student and them the teacher. The key for me is to be opportune to meet the right person who is not trying to manipulate but actually knows the truth and is willing and noble enough to say it as it is without trying to gain anything in return(This is Ma’am Obara i’m describing right now). Some of the questions you seek answers to are within you when you look deep enough and when you meet someone who tells you the same things that your innermost mind has revealed to you, you’ll easily know that this is a true teacher. That’s why it is said that “when the student is ready, the teacher will appear” because things will occur to you, you will ask questions by yourself, meditate on them by yourself and you curiosity will take you on a search that has brought you to this blog. Your being here on this blog is no coincidence as you’re on the path of awakening.
You asked if i believe all problems can be solved through the process of questions and answers? My answer is yes and no. Yes because a true teacher will tell you what you need to know, and then No because if you do not let yourself work on what you are told by teaching yourself alongside, everything will remain the same. When you listen you learn, then you meditate on what you learned and you will find answers coming from within. Everything i am telling you is how it has been from me since i have known Ma’am Obara. She has given a lot of messages that i apply to my life and i have gotten to a point where i do not have to ask her everything but i get to understand and know by myself because this is what she encourages everyone to do. If it is too difficult you will definitely ask the teacher but don’t forget in school we read by ourselves after classes so that we can pass our tests right? Not everything is touched in regular classes but it doesn’t stop the examiner from setting questions from every topic.
I don’t do Christianity either and this happened from a tender age. I asked a question in my mind for so long and then i asked someone who portrayed themselves as the best christian but they couldn’t give me an answer, so i just forgot about the whole concept of it and never bothered. It’s a good idea to study the bible and other religions books as it will open your eyes to the things you need to decipher and also the folly of men. This will help to make things clearer for you on your path.
It is good that you are doing your very best as an individual to unlearn and relearn all constructive information. Once awake, stay awake and do not go back to sleep.
It’s my pleasure to have this exchange with, we’re all here to learn, also learn from one another and to serve each other. So it’s nice to have you here…
I will find time to listen to the broadcast you recommended. Thanks for sharing and have a great day.
Remember always that this is spirituality and not philosophy, so try not to be literal because the things you will read on here will always defy logic.

Hi Vic,
You are still not understanding. A reality is your perception of life. I do not experience all that you say because it is not a part of my consciousness. The most I can do is observe the reality that others experience. I can observe and understand it because I have ascended the lower realities, meaning I can no longer see life as though it happens to me, instead I realize that I am the author of the reality I experience.
For easier understanding, the most I can experience is the observance of those who suffer from their own perceptions of life. It is like the perception of a child and an elder. The child will not experience what does not affect his personal understanding of the world. But if the child is trained to understand that black oppression is real, this reality will present itself to him, and it will be real to him. He has now joined the collective consciousness of misfortune. It is not left for the child to reach a point of realization one day, this realization will free him from the collective consciousness and he will now experience a reality that is aligned with his understanding.
Continue to think about what I say, and try to come to your own understanding of it, being mindful of being too literal. Try to see beyond physical things, and instead ponder of what makes them Be.
Blessing to you and yours.

Embracing Spirituality was so much needed by me. Living in Houston Texas and not really having a spiritual connection with like minded people has caused me to be somewhat isolated. I have attempted many times to caution myself when around family members who have caused much pain and grief and they definitely brought Obeah to my life.

Greetings Sis, I enjoy reading about you. This one touched my heart. It’s sad when family turns their back on one. I was blessed to have a mother who was understanding and accepting of a teen pregnancy. My father on the other hand didn’t want nothing to do with me. My husband’s parents were happy for us. It’s not easy being a young mother and your situation was rough. Our children are our blessings. You are truly blessed to have a daughter who loves you unconditionally and to have such a wonderful relationship. Thank you sis for being you and sharing your experience.
