FOOD FOR SPIRITS – DO NOT NEGLECT THEM

The other day I was so busy doing all and everything that I had forgotten to eat until on my way back home. My stomach reminded me that I had neglected it. I went and bought some vegan food (been toying with the vegan possibility for a while, but there's a big spiritual reason why I may not go vegan after all, I will do a post on this soon), and some other kinds of snacks on the side. As I got home and showered, this was about 8 or 9 pm, feeling nicely refreshed, I sat on the veranda for a while, relaxed, ready to eat while enjoying the night's breeze, there is nothing like a sweet Jamaican breeze and a glass of nicely iced sorrel beside me. I opened up the box of food which consisted of split peas rice, some red peas stew, curry chickpeas stew, salad and some veggie chunks (tastes good, but looks like dog food). The aroma rose up to my nose which eagerly inhaled all its tropical flavored goodness. It was very pleasant. Anticipation of my first bite made my salivate. I dug my fork into the rice, lifting some veg along and a piece of the chunks, (which I eyed and criticized somewhere far in my mind), as I did this almost half the food fell from my plate. My first taste fell to the ground, in my head I heard a thud (which I am certain wasn't there) as I stared frozen for a second at the fallen bite. A small laugh erupt from me as realization came full frontal. I had neglected the spirits. I had neglected to offer my first bite to my non physicals, something we all ought to do. Jamaican people wid oonuh backward thinking, please do not start wid oonuh "ah duppy yuh ah feed!" Lawd God man, wake up and be present! ...

THERE IS SOMETHING BREWING

Good day one and all, I have noticed from the other day in my most recent posts I have been writing about goodness and kindness and brotherly and sisterly love and not practicing evil and so on. I felt a little weird about being repetitive on subjects already posted but I also wondered if these postings were also messages, for someone in particular or for many or for even the world. We are living in perilous times, and often times things are brewing, and no one knows, or have even an idea,(at least us the citizens of the world), that we are possibly in danger. The world bosses (not Kartel) may be sitting on a crisis which may impact us all (the world), but as we go bustling about our busy day we have no clue. Something is wrong, messages are coming and we need to be aware. There is something brewing, but Prayer can help, of this I am sure. ...

COOK-RECIPE BOOK-AFRICAN FOOD

Good day to all. Today, upon blogger Cami's suggestion/request, we will be exploring African foods. Nigerian recipes especially, and mostly that of the Yoruba's the tribe to which I Obara Meji belong. I must say the first time I went to Africa and ate their food, it reminded me of Jamaican food. My first dish was Fish cooked with onions and pepper (pepe) as they call it and some dry yellow yam, along with something which reminded me of calaloo called Bitter leaf, delicious! Today I will give you some recipes of foods I have grown familiar with and quite fond of.  ...
