THE JEWEL THAT IS CURIOSITY

(Image: Altria Senior Living) That old saying "curiosity kills the cat" may be true, but have you ever thought that curiosity could be a lead way to finding your destiny? That finding your purpose could be done by what interests you most, what fascinates you, even to what could be the detriment (hence the saying) of you or perhaps the betterment? Yes, curiosity can lead you to your own demise, but perhaps it was written by you that way. ...

OMOU UPDATE – THE OBEAH COURSE

Hello everyone. Beginning next week Saturday, OMOU will begin a new online course on Obeah. The course will be four weeks, after which will begin another course on African Spirituality where a list of topics will fall under. Obeah has a stigma attached to it. The very word drives fear into the hearts of many and is often associated with malevolence and wicked deeds. Many people say they do not believe, even though it may be playing out in their lives as they deny its existence. The denial is often due to ignorance of its reality, and some denials are purely defiance as they call it rubbish and the practice of illiterates; and some even mimic the saying, "believe kills and believe cures." ...

FATTY SANDRA AND THE BABY DUPPY – PART 4

Sharon had been crying for weeks. Her mother had died and it hurt so much. "Mummy," she cried, her voice hoarse as she buried her face in her tear stained pillow. Her life held no meaning for her anymore, she felt as if she wanted to die. They had planned a shopping trip to New York and then they would go off to Disney World. Sharon was 23 years old and the only child for both of her parents. Aunty Maureen had no children and she took Sharon as her own also. Their family was strong and they all got along well. ...

FATTY SANDRA AND THE BABY DUPPY PART – 2

Killfuss sat with the bishop from the Moravian Church under his mango tree. It was midnight, the only time Pastor Ebeneezer McCullum would come to visit him. Killfuss did not like the man and looked at the cringing little fellow dressed up in a suit, in the middle of the night, in the Jamaican hot weather, with disdain. ...

FATTY SANDRA AND THE BABY DUPPY PT. 1

In a few weeks to come I will be doing a course on Obeah. In the past, I have written many stories on Embracing Spirituality on Obeah, but have removed them since. But today, I am moved to write a mini story once again on the topic of Obeah. As some of you know, I am currently working on an exciting book on Obeah. People use Obeah to create havoc in other peoples life, and we must be aware of the evil intentions of some human beings. Evil practices are never good and does gives out repercussions. It is only a coward who use Obeah to do his or her dirty deeds. As for the book that I am currently writing,  due to my work, it is going slowly, but I promise when it is done and out, I will announce it. I hope you learn something from this mini story I will write today and the days to come,( as this story will be in parts) because there will be lessons here, and I find that things that are not easy to understand are best taught in story form, so here I go once again... Fyah bun all Obeah workers! ...
