Obara meiji,
The other night I dreamt I was at an orisha bembe and a very prominent child of oshun, she is a respected elder, looked at me and told me I was going to have a baby. Although ,I don’t think it is far-fetched as I know the working of spirits, I am left wondering how?. I am currently not in a relationship, and I am a woman in my forties and childless.
This is making me wonder if it is metaphorical, we know culturally ,I am a Jamaican, that we have signs in our dreams that speaks of things to come. Our ancestors has left with us imageries in our visions that speaks of impending doom or prosperity. Whenever I dream of dirty waters, I know there are some woes coming, you know when Jamaican dreams of weddings they say someone is gonna die or when they dream of their teeth falling out. Can you expand on my dream for me and tell me what exactly is spirit telling me, and can you explain metaphors in dreams in us understanding this better.
This was an e-mail sent in this morning, and I am happy that this person asked these questions as I had planned to have Dreams/Visions discussions regularly on Embracing Spirituality.
The Elder child of Osun got a message for you and she delivered it, while it could be metaphorical knowing Osuns children and their accuracy in divinations I would most want to believe that it was a straight message, from Osun herself in the form of one of her children, that is how Osun works. It matters not your age, any one that knows the power of Osun knows that she gives babies and at any age, and husbands too, remember she rules over fertility and love. She has performed some mighty miracles, and as some one in your forties assuredly there are still some good eggs lingering around. Even though you are not currently in a relationship, the wind blows swiftly and as such your life can change in a blink of an eye. You could be home and the door bell rings and it is some one looking for an address and has “accidentally” stumbled onto yours and there is and instant connection…boom! baby!!….or you could go an a trip and unexpectedly meet someone new or even an old boyfriend and here comes that baby!!. The point that I am trying to make here is, if a spirit that is currently residing in the astral realm has selected you for his/her parent and it has been approved by the astral council there is no escaping it, that child will come. This is how it is and I say this with conviction!!!… Osun has given her message to you and all you have to do now is wait. Metaphorically the dream can be interpreted as something new coming into your life that will bring joy and pleasure such as a brand new baby born to someone who longs for it, it is a dream that implies new and better things to come, let me know how it turns out and thank you for the post!! aseeee!!!.
Now onto dreams and their metaphoric meanings. In Jamaica it is said if you dream that your …teeth falls out, it means that you will hear of a death, to dream of nakedness denotes scandal and disgrace same with dreams of blood, to see clear clean water speaks of good things to come, a barking dog signifies a dangerous enemy and the menacing cat is witchcraft, these are some of the popular interpretations of dreams and often times the meanings play out the same. Dreams and Visions belongs to the world of spirits, what this means is that it is the ancestors and our astral mates that brings these messages to us. Some dreams are just our thoughts or worries before we go to bed, and the mind revisits the problems that plagued you throughout the day. Others are true messages given to you by you astral guides or you mother/father/grandparents or whom ever you may have that may be living within the dimensions. Important is the time that you get the dreams or even more importantly visions, because some messages that comes through the dream state are lies, and that depends upon the messenger. For instance in the 3 am hour walks all kind of dark forces who will see your joy as they pass through your space and decide to worry you or confuse you by tell you a lie through dreams which will upset and worry you upon waking. Or they will manipulate your already negative thoughts with dreams which will have you believing that you are a seer, so you go around and accuse innocent people of wrong doings. These energies roam about in that hour and lingers around until 5 or 5:30 am in the morning. Anything after 6am up until about 9am or 8am we call visions and is more than likely given to you by your benevolent guides or ancestors. In future posts to come I will explain why dreams come in the forms of metaphors and also explain how we receive them. Continue to read the site and increase your knowledge and again I encourage you to send in you stories…

raeeeeeee!!! yes i believe the metaphors are different in diverse cultures, but dreams of clean waters and food and things of such nature normall interprets the same as they of a benevolent nature
I was wondering if in different cultures what are their metaphors in dreams .Collectively as Jamaicans, we have these signpost in our visions and dreams. Say someone from China, I wonder what are their metaphors as a people. Isn’t it wonderful that our ancestral lineage can leave us with such powers and signs, in navigating life. Big up de Jamaican duppies!!! Raaaeeee!!!
