THE MONKEY

This came to me just now while I sat watching television and I want to share, I do not know where it came from, I just heard it, saw it and thank God I have a platform on which to share it. Read it, explore it, comment if you will, but most importantly learn from it.

The monkey sits high upon a mountain top, and observes the world. He is old but strong, wise but is quiet most while, brave but also aloof. He is like no other in his clan, yet he is their leader, in his life he has seen many things and his experiences are much, if he were not skilled in his world, he would have made his exit a long time ago, he has stories to tell and they are many. He looks down on the world, from his position on top of the mountain he can see everything, he glints at the sun’s rays which almost interferes with his sight. He sighs. Humans! How lucky they are in their wonderful world, and yet foolish in their search for power and material objects which can never last. He looks toward the heavens and is thankful that he was not born with a human soul, he knows who he is and the species that he is apart of. He knows his world and the things he and his clan have to do to survive. He does not have the complications which humans have, which is mainly confusion, and yet how powerful they are and they have no idea.

The monkey looks around and sees his wives and children, and also his clansmen. He knows that he has to keep his clan growing, keep them safe and away from danger, he has to mate and produce off springs and the wives understand that also, in their world there is no jealousy, of who will sleep with him tonight, it is whoever he feels to bed he will. The children all groom each other and look out for each other, and the wives work together to keep the clan together through good times and hard storms. The clan bond together and are obedient to him their leader, their is no rivalry between them, no, it doe not exist. No hate, no discrimination, no betrayal, no jealousy, or race for power, no judgement or religion to separate and create confusion, no burden no such thing as stress, no hate whatsoever  none!

The monkey thinks and thinks and thinks, while he watches the humans below and how hard they make their lives in search of things which never last. They are never satisfied with what they are given, they search for more and will even steal to achieve whatever they want. They hate each other because of difference of color, and are jealous of what another have that they do not,and so they plot and kill, maim and destroy, they are not shy about being destructive to each other, the lives of their fellow beings, they will even have their children and abandon them, they have no care. Only but a few are compassionate, and love is not easily genuinely found among them. They have separated from each other and they all have their own reasons for the hate they bare.

Humans are an ungrateful bunch, the monkey thought, they feel that they rule the world, and if they are ever humbled they can, but they have no idea. They know not the power that they have locked deep with them can make them live forever, because they are fooled by the illusions of the world. Houses, cars, money, the cushy jobs, all material things which have no place in their evolution. Material things which holds them back from their true potentials and blinds them to the real order of their world and beyond, which if they knew, it would greatly benefit them and their generations to come, instead of the false power which they seek and can never hold onto but for a while. When one great man dies, a greater one has just been born, Humans, how foolish you are, the monkey thought.

He squint his wizened eyes against the sun’s glare, and it waters a bit, not of tears for the humans, no, never that. How could he feel sorrow for a race of people who are highly blessed by the creator, to be creators themselves but are too foolish  and a bit wicked, to know.

His world is green, it is the color of the forest where he lives. The lion is majestic in his own right, because he knows who he is, he is sure of his role while living in the earth, and care not for anything other than his survival. The Elephant the same and all animals of the bush, including the monkey and his relatives. Their world is theirs. They have no ambition to invade countries, start wars or enslave each other.

If they have to they will kill, but it is so for them, in order for them to survive, only the fittest of the fit survive in the jungle.

Their world is their world, and how they survive in their world is how they were created to do, given the skills and qualifications of life in the jungle. Their world given to them by the great creator, but even their world humans have interfered with, have invaded and have even taken their property, driven them away, killing them for their skins, bones, tusks, horns, feathers and more, Humans how cruel you are, shameless and stupid, what more do they want that they have not taken. Such an unsatisfied bunch! Hypocrites are most of them, when they speak of care and love.

If only they will know peace and love, real peace and love and honor it, maybe, just maybe there will be hope for this beautiful race called Human beings. The monkey sighed and turned away, never once glancing behind him.

At a time when so many countries are being brought to their knees; the focus is pointing fingers and laying blame. We could be using this opportunity to harness the amazing qualities of humanity but instead people are physically fighting over toilet paper smh. Given the world’s current climate, this is a great time to receive this message. Thank you, O. Perhaps you should repost it?

How fickle the human can be. We strive and toil for what we can hold in hand and never awaken to what we truly should seek for. Long years of conditioning and indoctrination by the knowledgeable few have derailed our purpose, our enlightenment and true expression of free will granted us by the creator. There is order in the animal kingdom and disorder in the kingdom of the supposed homo sapiens or higher animals as science describes it. This post gives a lot to think about. When will man see things from the eyes of the Monkey? I’m grateful everyday… Read more »

Thank you Obara, I plan to stay awake. One of my favourite personal quotes is, “I was a genie in a bottle, I rubbed, I’m out and I am never going back!”

Me like Baba Monkey… him remind me of my grandfather….he would look at the world and say “to to to, thank God i am leaving soon”….

Sometimes i wonder if we humans would do better if we could recall our past lives and lessons learned…

Very well written. I read this on my lunch break at work. It was just confirmation that I am on the right path. Family is so important. Right now I would not mind marrying Mr Monkey. ( lol Just playing) . I think we should all know what is important in life. Family and community should be our focus. We don’t do a lot of culture activity. I love it when it is warm outside and I go to the park and see so many family out. It makes me so happy. We our just an out of touch world… Read more »

You are so right Mr. Monkey! I will say as human beings just as with animals we adapt to our surroundings. Just like the poem “children live what they learn.” It is survival of the fittest in the human world as well and most ppl feel it is easier to take from someone else rather than get their own. Growing up in NY this survival concept is evident. You constantly feel like your in some kind of a rat race trying to outdo the next man. You develop this “Clap Back” mentality, “Anyting yuh do mi mi ago do yuh… Read more »
