1) Yes, this is apart of every culture and every culture deals with it through a spiritual medium. We all know that if it is dealt with through religion, such as Christianity, the Spirit Wives/Husband are demonized and casted to hell. But in some places where this problem is dealt with through traditional practice, there are some “primitive” cultures that will dress a young woman or a young man of marital age a certain way as to ward off spiritual spouses. Also, outside of Christianity, and even in Africa and the Middle East, when a child reaches a certain age, he is put through a rites of passage. The rites of passage is to align the child with his spiritual self so that he can journey himself while in this Earth plane.

It may be described differently than how I am describing it here, but the whole gist of it from a spiritual sense, is to allow the child to enter within the realm of society as a physical being but aligned with his spirit. Now, when this is done, most often the contract that they have with their Spirit Family (if they belong to a society), the contract at that moment is re-shaped, as a rites of passage acts as an initiation into allowing the spiritual family to guide the child rather than oppressing him.

It is important to understand that the rites of passage rituals all affect energy. Even if there is no direct intent to solve a spirit family problem, the alignment of the spirit with the physical puts negatives back into order, and this would include the problem of the spirit family.

How one is put back into alignment is a matter of wisdom and cultural interpretation.

2) IB, please come close. I want to whisper something delicately in your ears, and your ears only (there may be some Zionist on the blog also, and even they may overhear what I am about to tell you, but what I will tell you is the truth).

Zion Revival actually operates through its energy, vibration, movements, sounds, intonations and symbols… as Egbe worship.

I would have to write a post on this which would be lengthy, so I doubt I will, and it will be very hard for me to explain it, much less to those who are involved in Zion. But Zion, through the Order of 60 Revival, travel through cities and it is the Jamaican cultural expressive interpretation of what the Yorubas call Egbe, unbeknownst to them.

As for the question, I have been presented with these cases many times, and of course I, also, had the same Egbe situation until I “initiated”. But I handled my cases through spirit (which I will teach more about in the Obeah class).

3) Remember Egbe has nothing to do with Ifa, it is separate and apart from Ifa, so you would not have to be an Ifa initiate to receive Egbe. And also, no, receiving Egbe is not the only solution to the problem. Another way is through spirit, but only if the practitioner is knowledgeable on this application like myself. Keep in mind that these energies are very powerful, so it is not anything to play with haphazardly.

Also, the Spirit families are infinite in variation. Some are the power of the deepest darkest part of the ocean, while others are where the lagoon is, others are the power of the bank of a river, the power of certain mountains, the power of the cave, and more. These are the “cities” that Revivalists travel through.

If the question of Egbe comes up in a BABALAWO’S divination, the solution will come along with the ODU that arrives. It will be either sacrifice or initiation to egbe that will be prescribed.

1- it was communicated to me that when they travel back to their world their human experience is removed from their memory. They wake up as if what they have experienced was a nights dream or a dream from a nap. Even time does not count.
