I know my purpose. It took me a long time, and much mental pain, but I have found who I am and I have become who I am suppose to be. I am living the life I planned before I came here to this planet, and there must be a lot of wisdom hidden into every step I take, because life as I know it has not always been easy.
Unfortunately, most people during childhood, were taught the “basic” values of life, either laden with a religious belief, or the moral values of their society. What has been omitted, however, is the spiritual aspect of life and towards their evolution; in other words, How to Spiritually Attain What You Desire using these essential life values that I learned along this rough journey.

Failures are Opportunities and Stepping Stones
Failure is not to be looked at as failure. It is to be seen as an opportunity. “Failures” are often stepping stones to propel you into the next phase of life. The Universe speaks to us through many methods. If a person opens a business, and after a few years it goes no where, and eventually they have to close it. To that person, this “failure” is just that. However, to the Universe, it is a message.
I always say that “Every disappointment is a lesson learned.” But disappointments, failures, etc. are actually excellent teachers, because while we may look and accept these things as negatives, the Universe sees them as kick starters to new phases.
After my relationship with the Wicked Baby Father, and I was left with my young children to care for alone. I had to close my hair salon because I could not afford to keep it up. Life at that time was daunting to me. I cried everyday.
But what happened after this was a period of initiation.
I was literally stuck inside of my house for 3 years, living on a diet of spinach water and boiled liver water. During this “daunting” period, spirits came and taught me all that I am teaching you now.
Back then, my community and those who hated me laughed at me. They all gossiped and said that I had fallen. I had lost my shop and my children’s father; but this was not a failure. It was a rising. I needed to find my purpose, my true destiny, which was immensely great.
You must understand that this is how life works. Before your greatness can become yours, a ‘failure’ or ‘disappointment’ must come first. Darkness walks before light. Study the lives of all the Great men and women of History, what happened just before they achieved greatness? Some had loved ones die, some experienced depression, divorce, failures and rejections, etc. But just after the darkness, joy comes in the morning.
We may not like it but the storm must come before the calm can be realized. Try your best to weather it! It is an opportunity. It can only be a defeat if you accept it as such… which leads me to Value #2

You can achieve anything you want with your mind.
The Yorubas say “Nothing can be achieved without the consent of your ori”. Your Ori is your head, your inner consciousness, which many of us do not really understand it’s function in our lives. The Yorubas even go as far as to call the Ori, their creator.
I want to explain to you how your own head really is your creator.
First, there is a poem by Walter D. Wintle that states:
If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you don’t;
If you’d like to win, but think you can’t,
It’s almost a cinch you won’t.
If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost,
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellow’s will–
It’s all in the state of mind.If you think you’re outcasted, you are;
You’ve got to think high to rise.
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.
Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man;
But soon or late the man who wins
Is the man who THINKS HE CAN.
Our entire realities are literally what we think they are. We have thought them into existence. Limitations, obstacles, blockages, financial instability, etc. are all thought into being. The same is true for wealth, abundance, love, victory, etc.
When a child wants to buy something, if his parent can not afford it, they will tell him so. “There’s no money,”; “I can not afford it,” “Not now,” etc. The child will then grow into an adult with a reality of scarcity or limitations. This can manifest into many things: Jealousy of others achievements (believing success is scarce), stagnation, inability to progress, or not having the mindset to progress as they have accepted realities etc.
He will only reach so far because since his childhood, he was taught that “there is not enough” and this is a lesson he has subconsciously accepted. He can only escape this once he realizes the state of his mentality and actively reprograms it.
In my own experience, all my life I had the mentality of abundance unbeknownst to me. If I were to live anywhere, it must be the best place available. If I were to have anything, it must be the best offered, and I accepted no less. I believed that everything will always be alright, as I can face anything and win. I believed that where ever I am from within the realms of time and space, I am crowned.
And so, it is my beliefs that life manifested. When I got a new apartment, it was the one I said I wanted, which was almost always the best offered. Where ever I went, crowds would part for me to pass. If I sought help, I always received it. And, unfortunately, I am often treated without pity. The reason for this is because of my beliefs. Because I don’t believe I am helpless, no one else does.
Our “Heads” really are our creator. You can have anything you desire, as long as you believe you can. The Yorubas believe in “feeding” (offering sacrifice) their Heads, so as to allow your Creator to guide you well. Along with many things, the feeding will also help to combat some of the negative realities many people have accepted subconsciously, and assist you to make better decisions.
Do not wait for anyone to give you what you want. It is only you that can really achieve all your desires, if you wake up to that reality. Let your desires be accompanied by emotion. With emotion, that desire cements itself as belief and faith.

Focus on Your Needs and Desires and Bring them to You
The best way to do this is through Daily Affirmations. Here’s how:
STEP ONE: Find a comfortable spot to sit (a spot you will always use) and focus on all that you desire or who or what you aspire to be. What is important here is that you must see it. See all you desire in your mind as a movie with you as the star.
One of my mentors , Mr. Pierre told me this a long time ago. The advice was so matter of fact that I did not realize he was actually teaching me.
STEP TWO: Choose an hour that works for you. “Works” as in not being interrupted by anyone or any thing. The best time is usually upon waking in the morning, but you are free to choose your own time. Choose the length of time you will use to focus, arrange it from ten minutes to however long you are able to manage.
While you affirm, you must see all that you desire as already yours. That power is within you, all you have to do is excavate it. Bring it in, own it.

FAITH and BELIEVE
For all who are reading this, if you are willing to practice any of what I have taught, please know that it will not be effective without faith and belief. No matter how good the Spiritualist or the Traditionalist is, the work will not go through if the seeker has no faith and belief. With the practitioner, his work goes with intent.
Faith and belief has to be at the core of your being – it is the engine, the driving force, because you KNOW “this” will happen.
The Christian Bible says Faith can move mountains, and it literally can. Just as you are who you think are, you are also what you believe you are.
When a spiritual work is done on your behalf, unbeknownst to you, one of the ingredients is your faith. Prayers, affirmations, spirituality, getting a job, getting married, being prosperous etc. Are all ineffective without your faith. If you hope to be financially stable, but your mind is simultaneously telling you “It won’t happen… It never happens.” Your efforts will be pointless.
Lack of belief creates doubt, fears, and worries.
It is the repetition of affirmation that leads to belief. And once that belief becomes a deep conviction (faith), things begin to happen – Muhammad Ali
Honourable Mentions:
Practice the Art of Giving:
In order to receive, you must give. This is harmony and balance. If you desire a million dollars, what will you give in return for receiving it? If you are learning anything from this blog, then pass on the knowledge! Life is all about sacrifice. The more you give, the more you shall receive.
…and lastly
All You Have to do is Ask
I remember many times when I would sit with my hand at my jaw, after the wicked baby father left. I was a woman with 4 children and no idea where money would come from for me to feed them. I had two options: Lament or Ask.
Here I was, newly awake, but had no idea what would happen next. I began my work and it was good. I was accepted by all and they loved me. After a while I changed my number and ran from the work. The burden of people was too much, the work became overwhelming, times became hard. The universe patiently waited for me to come back to myself. I was faced with Lament or Ask.
I asked. I spoke out to the Universe that I must see money into my account before the end of this week! I must receive a phone call (although it was only a few people who had my number) that will assure me that all will be well. By night fall, I received a phone call (when I received it, I did not remember what I had said that morning).
The phone call was from a woman I had not heard from in 5 years. A client of mine said she saw the woman recently, and gave her my new number. When we spoke, the woman reminded me of some spiritual work I had done for her 5 years ago, a work I had forgotten all about.
I had also forgotten that she owed me payment for it.
She said she had been looking for me for a long time, as she once again needed my help and wanted to pay me for the previous work. To add to this, she told me that she told her friends about me and referred 3 of them to me.
It all sounds too simple. If you are at all too skeptical to “Ask and Receive”, then don’t. For you must refer back to the previous life value: Belief and Faith.

Thanks so much ma..I really appreciate all your efforts. Remain Blessed
Testimonial: Sometimes on my spiritual journey I feel like I am climbing an uphill battle. People, places, and things merge into one and the disconnect is tangible when you are awake in the world. I have been a student of this blog for several years and whenever I read a post, I do my best to apply it in my everyday life. Very recently Obara posted on our power as human beings to create our reality ,command the universe and the power of your mind. That post stuck with me and in the time following that post a lot of challenges… Read more »
I have also had problems posting comments. I have only ever had one comment successfully posted plus a testimonial (after one failed attempt). I tried different browsers and I am trying a new one with this comment. I hope it goes through.
Thank you for this post, Obara. I saw it a bit “late” but just at the right time to re-assure and encourage me. Your words always ring true. Blessings!
Hi Lilian! Your first testimonial did not fail, it was just awaiting approval. This comment system is only temporary we are going to test out another one.
You’re welcome 🙂
hey Obara I still recite my affirmation taught by you. They have helped me tremendously. I am, I am, I am therefore I think I am. ” I am often treated without pity. Because I don’t believe I am helpless, no one else does. ” Funny I think this way too about myself and so do others. Even my parent they worry about my sibling more saying you alright. No pity at all they giKKve me. Neither do any of my friends. Sometimes I think I want some empathy at least but no pity.
Greetings Ma and my ES family- love and light to you all. Wonderful teaching Ma. I can resonate with the life values you mentioned, so so true. This quote really resonated with me “Prosperity in the form of wealth works exactly the same as everything else. You will see “it coming into your life when you are unattached to needing it.” Wayne Dyer I believe that we get what we desire, because it is already part of our destiny, written in the fabric of our being, so no matter what happens, we will always get to the point of where… Read more »

Great knowledge and excellent point. I do believe we set limitation on our selfs without even knowing but it’s time to free ourselves from that limitation we have set on ourselves.
Thank you Ms. can

Great post !
Ye Yow Lincoln, big up!
Finally….. Obara …this is where I need help…. I think myself a King…. I affirm…BUT I NEED TO GET RID OF LIMITING BELIEF ABOUT MONEY FROM A CHILD
Well Merran, just know that a King is rich. If you believe that you are King, and you are, then now see your wealth along with it. There is no poor King or one who is lacking. There you go!

Greetings Obara,
Very valuable post. There seems to be a lot centered around our consciousness of the Ori. In the past, I’ve anointed my head with oil while venerating my Ori and acknowledging my ancestors and guides. However, I want to be sure that it is being done properly. Is there a general guideline for offering sacrifices specifically to our Ori?
Regards,
IB
Feeding your Ori can be a basic as putting water atop it. But there are ways to do it appropriately. As an initiate who does this quite frequently, I know to ask my ifa to guide me what it needs. I do not think it is appropriate to give a divinity what it did not ask for. Ori is certainly a divinity. The internet is full of how to feed your Ori. In my honest opinion and that of elders to whom I have spoken, feeding your Ori on your own is not good. It is best to sit and… Read more »
Thanks for responding 🙂
I’ve never searched online for that information because people will post all manner of things and its a bit difficult to determine the accuracy of the information. I asked the question because that point specifically caught my attention. However, as a noninitiate, I am grateful for all the other points you’ve provided on attaining our desires in life. To be safe, I’ll leave the Ori aspect out of the equation for now.
Many will not like this comment but it is the truth. I do not want to be deceptive and lie.
Warm and reassuring post! Thanks again!
Thank you Kash
