Do not Lie, Do not Steal, Do not Kill….etc……is what most of us remember being told to us while growing up as children. Growing up in Jamaica under the christian influence these commandments were driven into our heads daily. Not only were we taught or warned rather, repeatedly not to do these things. We had to learn the ten commandments by heart and recite then when called upon. Along with learning the commandments of the bible. My mother, (and it is usually the job of the mothers, regardless if Daddy is an in home or present dad to pass down oral tradition), would teach us……..”If you see an enemy and they ask for water and you can assist, do not deny them”, or “do unto others as you would like them do unto you”, and much more.
Demeise Richards had an affair with Heather Locklears Ex-husband Richie Sambora even though they were friends……here is what an internet article reported.
See, while Heather is in the process of divorcing the rock star, Denise has broken every code in the girlfriend’s handbook by getting cozy with her bud’s soon-to-be ex. According to Star magazine, Heather “told Denise she was a traitor who had betrayed their friendship.” And the claws officially came out when Heather exclaimed, “I never want to see you again. You no longer exist to me. It’s like you’ve died.”
When Oprah interviewed Deniese Richards she asked her about her affair with Heather Locklears exhusband, and then she asked the question many women waited for her to ask, and that was if she had never heard of the girlfriend code, never sleep with your friends husband/boyfriend/lover …… Deniese gave some nonsense excuse which I am sure many peopl tuned out becaues she did the unthinkable.
|During adult-hood, along with the earning of wealth and involvement in the improvement of Society, attention must be paid to the promotion and preservation of virtues and to the observance of moral codes.”|
|Sri Sathya Sai Baba quotes|
- Socrates insisted that we have the capacity to know what is good, without anyone else to tell us. Kant, amongst others, spoke of the moral force within. Our own experience tells (many of) us that we do, somehow, know what is right and wrong, whether or not we choose to act in accord with that knowledge. So the original question really must be prefaced with the questions “Why do we have an inner sense of what is and is not good ?”, “What is this sense, and from where does it arise ?”.

Violating moral codes can be anything that should play on ones conscience such as cheating on you spouse/boyfriend/girfriend/ committing incest whether the actual act or even the lust, pediphilia, what ever it is that is not of the normal way society behaves. Things done unbefitting that of someone who had respect for others and his own self. It is up to Parents to try to build the childrens character in hope that they will adhere to the teachings and in turn teach their children so that the order of ethics or of good moral conduct can and will revive again once more.
Over all I believe it is inate for us to know the correct things to do, to know how to behave ours selves and also to be the best humans beings we can be. Christians said Jesus the Christ is their example and while that is good for them, for the rest of us who do not follow the the teaching of Christ the Saviour we either remember Mama’s teachings or we look inside our own selves and read the moral code manual within (because I an sure it is there) and follow it!!.
