It takes courage to make Spiritual decisions. It takes courage to face the worlds challenges everyday. It takes courage to adjust your lives. It takes courage to stand up for yourself, in a world which is so critical of you. It takes courage to continue daring for better, and actively pursuing it. It takes courage to love. It takes courage to forgive. It takes courage to release and let go. It takes courage to make sacrifices. It takes courage to embrace anything which society believes is not the norm. It takes courage to learn to drive. It takes courage to go back to school. It takes courage to raise your hand in class. It takes courage to tell someone you love them and mean it. It takes courage to believe that you are loved. It takes courage to ignore the frailties of the world. It takes courage to let others know that you read this blog. It takes to be yourself, which at times is the hardest to do. It takes courage to have a voice and use it. It takes courage to not give into fear. It takes courage to cut your loses and get on with your life. It takes courage to step through the front door.
It takes courage to admit your flaws or your faults. It takes courage to see your inner beauty and strength, looking beyond superficiality. It takes courage to stand up and speak out for another. It takes courage to attack life on behalf of others. It takes courage to be present in your life. It takes courage not to bend to pressure. It takes courage not to make the power of money ruin you. It takes courage to leave a toxic relationship. It takes courage to look at being fired from your job as God’s way of telling you that greater is to come. It takes courage to believe that your chaotic life will change one day and all be well. It takes courage to embrace your spirituality. It takes courage to begin a new relationship. It takes courage to move away from your comfort zone and begin life on your own. It takes courage to be a parent. It takes courage to be a single parent. It takes courage to face your detractors. It takes courage to sleep alone, feeling lonely and sad. It takes courage to get a reading, some people don’t want to know. It takes courage to dare to dream higher than what others expect. It takes courage to be defiant in the face of adversity. It takes courage to remove the limitations placed on you because of your race, or ethnicity. It takes courage! It takes courage to own your freedom and explore all your possibilities. It takes courage to let go off your mothers hand. It takes courage to refuse time to non essential activities. It takes courage to stand up to a friend. It don’t mean you are weak if you turn the other cheek, walk away from trouble if you can the song says…It takes courage to walk away from a fight. It takes courage to stand up and speak. It takes courage to sit down and listen. It takes courage not to be a victim of anything. It takes courage to free your mind. It takes courage to step aside. It takes courage to trust. It takes courage to explore and accept things that you learn from the Bible or the Koran or your faith. It takes courage to change. It takes courage to accept change!
“The two hardest tests on the spiritual road are the patience to wait for the right moment and the courage not to be disappointed with what we encounter.”
― Paulo Coelho, Veronika Decides to Die
“Whatever you do, you need courage. Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising that tempt you to believe your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires some of the same courage that a soldier needs. Peace has its victories, but it takes brave men and women to win them.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson
“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.”
― Nelson Mandela
“Have courage for the great sorrows of life and patience for the small ones; and when you have laboriously accomplished your daily task, go to sleep in peace. God is awake.”
― Victor Hugo
“Courage isn’t having the strength to go on – it is going on when you don’t have strength.”
― Napoleon

It takes courage, as women, to unite. Men love their brotherhood. Guy code. Team mates. You name it, where 2 or more men are gathered, they become a united front- so effortlessly. As women, the same is not easily done for whatever reason or the other, but we need courage to unite. There’s spiritual power in the unity of women. The power of a woman. #WomenPower.
It takes courage to voice/ blog our experiences, past, mistakes, hopes and dreams…I love you all…I was away today and busy but sent all my love to you all today and missed you all dearly…

Courage is knowing the no matter how bad things get, things can swifty turn for the better. Courage is knowing that nothing is too good for you. Courage is knowing that you are never too old to have your dreams come through…

Yazzy, I was very upset at her…She wasnt being self-righteous or anything, but she would jokingly asked when I am getting married and told me that I needed a man in the house as I was more of a target for robbers when there is no man around the house. I had to think looooogggg and hard and realised she was deflecting. I realised it wasnt about ME (courage is not making things about you) and the amazing thing, I found this blog, got friends and a special niece, Brenda. God is good. I remind myself with the scripture that… Read more »
Lol…niece Brenda…
Courage is accepting that you were/are wrong: This recently happened to me. I have this co-worker, we are not pally-pally but we interact daily. She is a nice lady, she has even gotten a prize at work for being the most professional (standing ovation when her name was called). About last yr Oct. I was contstantly led to pray for her, specifically her marriage. I couldnt understand but I prayed. She was never a flashy lady, nice simple hairstyles etc. Then she just start to look ‘mash-up’ as we would say in Ja. Occaionally, when I enquired how things were… Read more »
MTH, I respect that. Sometimes it’s not about us. Yuh continue pray fi har… when called to do a task, it’s ok fi fight, kick and scream before and even during the task… but as long as we have the courage to complete it… after the battle, the reward! Yuh have a big heart and it’s already taking you places
Courage is fathering and mothering kids that aren’t our own, with the same reverence and love (if not more) that we would give our own.
Yazzy we clean over here, trust me a bay love all if a me one ah bay love, I love all of you
Mommy O, a me fi tell yuh how much joy you, your blog and your blog family bring me. Me have a piece a testimony ahoa! Lololol
It takes courage to not be perfect and be accepting of that reality.
*Sorry* Yazzy the last comment was meant for you.*
@MTH, when mi read it just now, mi realize
Teach, hold mi peace meaning mi neva waan gh dere reliving the past. *Obara, yu wek mi feel suh welcome here*
It takes courage not to go hunt down Carlos Hill, David Smith and all the other in the various Ponzi schemes that robbed your loved ones.
It takes courage to love a child knowing your innocence was taken to bare that child.
It takes courage to rise from yuh slum…and still humbly tank di slum fi help yuh rise

It takes courage to face death…over and over again but still declare life!
And to embrace God and spirituality…love it Yazzy…
@ Ty, yes it’s true. Look around us… our culture of celeb obsession/worship, among other things ie, lovers of money, fame and ourselves (selfie obsession) . So courage is esp needed, as a young person, to embrace God and our spirituality in spite of what’s now “trending”.
It takes courage to heal after a disasterous relationship. It takes courage to be cordial to the mate of a spouse you still love.
@ mth, come outta mi head nuh. Deep ….deeeeeeeep medz! Is like you’re my advocate in real life.
Good one M
It takes courage to hold your peace (and your piece) when you know you are being lied to.
It takes courage to fight for what you believe in. It takes courage to know that your destiny has been altered and not seek to know who did it and why.
It takes courage to look after the sick and lame, a very self less act, it take courage to stand alone
It takes courage to start over. It takes courage to accept you might never find a partner. It takes to go to the gym. It takes courage to press on.
I love it keep on coming I am inspired
@MTH, I can actually feel everything you just wrote. I feel your passion for your words written. Love it tweety pie.
I like this one it takes courage.in this life you have to have courage to do everything because life is one big road with a lot sign..we as people need courage to face everyday life.peeps you hear that word courage courage courage have to have
Welcome Cas, so happy to have you here…
It takes courage to wake up and live- Live with purpose, that is. Not just gliding thru life meaningless….
it takes courage to shave off your head…lol
Hello class, love it, love it, love it. It takes courage to accept who you are…
Yet another amazing post my Mommy O!!
Good day every one. These “writers” out there making the “best sellers” list have nothing on you. You don’t just write, you INSPIRE! You are Maya Angelo’s true definition of a phenomenal woman. You should be published. You’re raw literature can heal a nation.
Anyhoos, as fi fimi courage inna de day ya… it takes courage fi see some good good oxtail/ stew peas and rice and know se a fasting mi se so mi kill dead mi a cova mi eaz! caak mi nose! & chet mi yeye! How u doing??
Just what the soul needed. Obara my favourite quote is from Les Brown ‘if you fall, fall on your back, because if you can look up, you can get up’. It is courage that would make you get up.
Welcome Vanessa

This was right on time. Thank you Ms. Obara. I needed that for this new journey im about to embark on!
yes Kia oonuh add oonuh own, thats a good one!
It takes courage to admit that sometimes I don’t have the courage… hellooo peepz
Hey Safo, where yuh been
Evening Obara…Imagine stating all this in a speech-hope you don’t have a lisp. I would bite my tongue on all those courage listed.
(Following Kia) … I wish I had the courage to accept disappointments as not being a failure.
Good morning. Most definitely and one must have a burning desire to accomplish what they want. It has to be so loud that it drowns every single wave of doubt and fear.
Very encouraging post today lovely one. Thanks.
