A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF TYING AND BINDING-AN EPIDEMIC IN EVERY CULTURE

Since I wrote the post the Symptoms of Tying, I have received tons of emails of people who are affected by it, (read here for one of my own personal stories, this one is of my father). For people who can read patois, (it is in patois straight through) read this one, it is also very personal to me, as a matter of fact this was the second post I ever wrote on my blog. Through out my postings here on Embracing Spirituality, I have sprinkled this act of Obeah into many of my posts. It is prevalent in ALL cultures and within all societies, and it does not even have to be lovers that do it to each other. A parent can bind a child unto him or her for control, friends in platonic relations can do this for their own reasons, making the person a slave to them and forcing loyalty. It is that serious because it does exist. People do it quite often and in a certain culture (do not ask me which one, I will not reveal it) mothers train their daughters to find good suitors and instruct them on what to do or what to take from them so that this person can be bound to them forever. Trick worse than obeah is a post which I can actually say now, that I was tricked and tied up by the man's parents. I was innocent to the fact, but because I am no ordinary human being, my non-physicals set me free. There was once a church I attended that the mother, you can find her here, (I have really written a lot of posts, imagine that? and I can not type, oonuh clap mi!) tied up all her attendees. I think I wrote that story here, but I cannot remember the title of the post. They cleaned her house, washed her clothes, did all her bidding. I exposed her unintentionally by me, but intentionally through spirit, and there began one of the greatest spiritual fights of my life, read it a part of it here. ...

WHO DID IT AND WHY? WHEN JEALOUSY TURNS TO OBEAH

A few days ago I was sent an email from a young lady about her mother and what she went through and also how it affected the children. In the email, she had two questions: Who did this terrible thing to her mother? And what caused it? ...

SYMPTOMS OF TYING/BINDING A PERSON THROUGH THE ACT OF OBEAH

Good day to all. I have been doing some technical work to the blog and this is why I have not been posting everyday. Writing takes time to do and I can not post when everything is in action according to my assistant. However, today I will do a short post on the symptoms of binding or "tying" as we call it in Jamaica, in other words how to know when someone has tied a person onto them. This topic is important because it happens so often and affects so many lives. It is a horrible thing to do to anyone, and it interferes with the destiny of both the one who did the tying job and the one who gets tied. Why would someone want to bind someone to them? I just could never understand it, but I will tell you how to know when it has happened. ...

DARE TO BELIEVE

Yesterday I spent the day feeling slightly sorry for myself. I kept looking in the mirror and seeing Quasimodo's (the hunchback of Notra-Dame) long lost cousin looking back at me. This years allergy really did a number on my eyes with the puffiness and dark circles. I did not make a post yesterday, because of that and also because I thought that the post the day before was a worthy read, so why over shadow it with a new one. I wanted to take it easy today and wallow in self pity at not being able to look in the mirror without being frightened or shouting out "who that", before realizing that it was me, with a different face, but the keyboard called and I responded. The post will not be a long one, I just want to share somethings that are on my mind. It has to do with a phone call I had received sometime ago and what the caller told me. I asked her permission to share her story and was granted the go ahead. I needed to highlight this, because unfortunately many people think like this lady, and you should all know the truth. ...

TYING/BINDING SOMEONE TO YOU, A TALE OF OBEAH/JUJU

I didn't know that I had a sister from my father, I had no idea while growing up. The first time I heard her name mentioned I was surprised. I had no idea that daddy had a life before with anyone beside my mom. He mentioned that I had a sister named Donnette, and he said he missed her but he had nothing to do with the mother so it was so sad that he could not visit or see her. He was talking to his friend at the time under the mango tree next door, smoking a spliff while I sucked my thumb and laid on his lap. I looked up and asked him if it was true that I had a sister, and he nodded and answered yes Nunu (which was what he affectionately called me as a child), one day you will meet her, he said, I smiled as I laid back on his chest, thrust my finger back into my mouth and smiled at the thought of a sister, possibly this one would be a nice sister. Later that day, Miss Ruth was visiting as usual and she and my mom were on the veranda talking, mama had just finished cooking and as usual Miss Ruth was having her belly full. It was Wednesday, Stew Peas day, and Miss Ruth was hungrily sucking on a piece of Pig’s tail when I blurted out, “Mama, why yuh neva tell mi dat daddy have anedda daughter”, Miss Ruth with her ever sharp ears began coughing on the pig’s tail bone as she looked up at mama as if to say what? Mama was visibly embarrassed and gave me THAT look, which said, "watch me and you later." ...
