THE IMPORTANCE OF JOY, HAPPINESS AND FUN-LAUGHTER, OUR BEST FRIEND

This past Saturday, after I had made two posts, one about my dreams and one on L. W. de Laurence, which we discussed, I later made a comment on the post of the Dream Post  about what was going on in my head. There was a music playing in my head, a song called Young Girl, By American singer Gary Puckett. I decided spontaneously to put the link into the comment box as to let you all into my head at that very moment and follow it up with reggae artist Cocoa Tea’s song 18 and Older. I never gave thought to it, other than I was having fun all by my lonesome, and as usual with me I wanted to share the fun. Soon as I did it, my lovely fun loving blogger Ty, joined me and between the two of us we began to post links to all kinds of music and Mth along with others (Mr. Nile, Kudos to you, great selector!), joined us. We had so much fun, oceans apart and within our our own space, but we came together on the blog and it felt as if we were all together playing music, dancing, laughing and just over all bugging out, I loved it 

I love fun, jokes and laughter. Give me jokes all day every day, I encourage it and I must admit, for one to be around me Obara Meji, you must  be prepared for the same, as I know and am certain that I will make you laugh out of your clothes, falling on to the ground even, I am that funny, there is no denying it. My mother, whenever she told a story, became animated and would often act out the parts of each character she told the story of, voice, mannerisms and all, my father is in a class by himself when it comes to being a comedian. My children, I am happy to say, were born with great sense of humor and are natural comedians  and together we are a source of delight to each other. When it comes to a choice in whatever movie I want to watch, comedy is always a first choice for me.

We live in a world where there are so many things happening around us, we are faced everyday with decisions, challenges, fears among other things, how wonderful is our creator to give us laughter. The brain calls for it, as it calls for food and sex, the brain calls for laughter and fun. Our spirit encourages it, how terrible the world be if no one laughed. If there was no fun? Just imagine an all serious world for a second, it is a hard thing even to imagine. For us to be able to handle stress we must find laughter and fun, we must find joy and hold court with it, we must!. It is an  important health benefit to laugh, to find your joy and source it. Having fun should be a priority to all who wants to ensure a great quality of life along with good or better health, keeping stress and depression at bay.

Laughter extends our lives, and it also brings us closer together. If you want to know if you have found your soul mate or one of, it is very easy. If you have met a person who it is easy to laugh and have fun with, someone who makes you happy, no matter if  at times they do something to piss you off or vice versa, no grudges are held and you continue to enjoy each other through thick and thin, you have definitely found your soul mate or one of. Know also that Laughter is an antidote to fear, our greatest enemy, and that Laughter is stronger than fear, it really is. Fear runs and hide when laughter shows up and if laughter is kept around fear eventually disappears. Laughter breaks the ice in the company of strangers or friends or during awkward moments. Laughter breaks the Ice and allows people to relax and take a load off.  It allows people with stiff upper lips, ( people considered too formal) to be themselves, to remove their girdles and breathe! Laughter is good for you, It helps release endorphins in the body which act as a natural painkiller; laughter also improves our immune systems. It can be more effective than medicine.

Laughter connects us with the divine. A child within a few months of being born, smiles and laughs as a way of communication. Laughter is a gift from God. Laughter is Universal, it is found in every group around the world, it is a language on all on its own. From a chuckle to a giggle, to a booming outburst, laughter connects with everyone and is very contagious. Two strangers can share in its magnificence, and a great love connection can be and has been formed because of it. Laughter is a glue which keeps many relationships together. Laughter is the power that assist us through hard times, it raises energy and bring forth good and positive vibrations. This week  as usual I sat by myself and rummaged through my head for nostalgic memories of my time growing up in Jamaica.  There, while rummaging,  I conjured up the memory of Mr. Fergie, the neighborhood drunk. Mr. Fergie was an old man, hair white, all of it, and he was always drunk. I do not recall Mr. Fergie ever behaving sober, but he was as funny as can be, everything Mr. Fergie said had people rolling on the ground, unfortunately we all found joy and laughter from someone who obviously was in pain emotionally to have gotten to a point in his life where he was labeled the neighborhood drunk. Then there was shoey, our local shoe maker, who was sober during the days but would get drunk at nights and took to a soap box to tell jokes the likes of which Richard Pryor could not compete with, needless to say while remembering these people, I rolled with laughter, which later prompted me to began selecting music on the blog and having a great time on Saturday.

My message to you today is exactly as the title states, it is important to laugh, have fun and find your joy. I do understand the need to address the issues which belongs to life as we progress, but we must find time to enjoy our lives, here on earth amid chaos and problems.
